Review summary

the mandatory safety 'talk' was severely lacking. After a short life vest demo we were herded up to the boat deck and motioned to line up. Nothing was said. After everyone arrived and lined up we were dismissed, with nothing said. What was the point of that? Were you trying to tell us we would line up and board the life rafts?? I don't know, nothing was communicated! This cruise was my first, and for my 50th birthday. Everyone we talked to who has cruised told us to let our cabin steward know. You'll get a give certificate to the spa or something special. My husband told the steward. Her response was 'I'm given a list of people to give these 'gifts' to and you weren't on the list. Most people don't use them anyway'. Shame, because we would have.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Dining rooms, restaurants and buffets were fine. Food was disappointing. Communication regarding where to dine was lacking. This was a first time cruise and we hadn't booked any meals. We didn't realize there was a specific dining room that allowed for this. We were under the impression we would not be able to dine in the dining rooms.

Service and Staff

The information desk staff was rude, short and not forthcoming with information. The rest of the staff was amazing.

Ship tip

ask a lot of questions. Ask people who have sailed before. Book excursions ahead of time. Even though the ship 'offers' excursions they aren't really available

Mflacks we felt the same about the safety briefing. I felt like something was left out. It seemed to just end without further instruction. I hope you had a great time for your 50th!

Oh get over your crap. I don’t have to tell you crap about why I have some time on my hands this week-I just chose too because you felt the need to make a remark. Don’t be a hypocrite. You didn’t want to learn crap on your review the other day-you wanted to Complain and have people pay you on the back. And honey if you don’t care-don’t reply to me. Make sense? And guess you haven’t read all my comments or you’d know-not all are negative. 😂 Yep I’m On EVERY review. Get a grip, Tammy, and if you don’t care I expect this will be the last time I have to hear from you.

Actually I do have some time on my hands now, Tammy, as my husband is very sick. So while he sleeps I look to fill my time-thanks for the reminder. Why don’t you take your own advice-don’t like it, move along. But it’s cute that you follow me around. 🙄 Now just stop, we all know cruising isn’t for you.

Xina1999 you must have A LOT of lonely time on your hands. You are always criticizing people’s reviews. FYI: a review is an OPINION, not a fact. You are seriously annoying. I’ve seen your posts on other people’s reviews. Just stop. We all know your little motto “a cruise is what you make it”. Geez!

xina1999    7 years ago

Yes that's exactly what they were doing-telling you where to go in case of an emergency. I'm sorry you didn't get something free- and frankly you don't know you would have used something given. Bottom line a cruise is what you make of it-you can complain that you were given something for free or your husband could have arranged something for you-as Ive done when we celebrate anniversaries or birthdays.

I got a pointless gift for the spa. Clearly geared toward women. Was also for my 50th

Happy 50th, and happy first cruise! Sorry you did not get a balloon, a door card, a special towel animal - something, anything!!! I have heard tell the cruise line when you book, tell your steward, tell Someone! You did. Sorry.

With special occasions you need to let someone know when booking or if you booked online call and let someone know but it's still not a guarantee you'll get something since half the people on the ship are celebrating something. I went once for my bday and Anniversary and didn't get anything but for my husbands birthday we got a free meal at the Italian restaurant on the Sunshine. The muster drills are a pain mostly it's just to make sure everyone sees where they have to go some ships are better at it than others.
