We enjoyed this cruise albeit we encountered some very rough seas, especially on return home. crew and passengers sent to their cabins due to 70 mph winds and thunderstorms!

Overall we enjoyed our cruise. The ship needed some updates and there needs to be a better system for embarking and disembarking the ship!!

BAD WEATHER by brandy1949

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Dream

NOT TOO BAD IF WE EXCLUDE THE BAD WEATHER. SOME PROBLEM AT THE GUEST SERVICES AS THEY DID NOT SEEM TO KNOW TOO MUCH ABOUT THE NEW WAY OF DEBARKATION.

It was ok by venushamilton

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Dream

Do you need more variety of food? Food needs to be better. It was very medium. We had to search for food because the buffets would close down after a couple hours. The staff was great and cleanliness of the boat was good.

Amazing cruise!! by KatyA95

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Dream

I cruised alone and really enjoyed this cruise. I do wish there was a pool on the serenity deck but it was still great. Maybe more options for single mingle types of things as well!

Carnival is not what it used to be! by borboaantonio

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Dream

We did not enjoy our ship at all! The last time that we cruised with Carnival they did not charge for popcorn during the cinema under the stars ($4.50). We could order breakfast in our cabin at no additional cost. Also the overall quality of the food was great whereas this time it was poor or ok at best. Also the ship is in desperate need of maintenance/updating. The overall mood of the staff was also not what we have come to expect. Having cruised with Royal Carribean and Norwegian earlier this year I can honestly say that Carnival is by far the worst of the bunch. Too bad but we will never cruise with Carnival again!

Overall, I enjoyed the Cruise. The Veterans Table. I attended ONCE I was insulted that I had to pay for my wife's Tea. EVERYTHING for the Veterans MUST BE FREE!! I suffered in HUNGER the food was COLD and not of my palette, I was NOT alone several others shared my hunger, I lost 6 lbs during this cruise. The TV MUST have more live channels PLEASE!! Entertainment has to be different for those of use that cruise and have more than 5 cruise with carnival we have seen it all. Want me back make it worth my money with TV, Food, and Entertainment.

Smooth Sailing by GoChiefs

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Dream

The port destinations and available excursions were good. The prices for drinks seemed higher than expected. The cabin had not been updated since there was one electrical outlet at the desk to charge all the electronic devices so you definitely need to pack an multi-outlet electrical extension.

It was ok by preacherdude24

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Dream

I like to sit on the ship in the shade and look at the ocean to read, nap and listen to music while looking at the ocean. This shop has very little space for this activity. Maybe more umbrellas?? The excursions were a waste except for at least now we know the island layout a bit. Sure cost a lot for such a tour. The food on Carnival is much improved and great! The staff were excellent except there were very few drink runners. Not like usual which looks like being understaffed. The boat needs someplace other than just the bathrooms to sanitize the hands before touching anything in the dining areas or buffet. I don’t know if it was the cruise or not, but both my wife and I got some kind of respiratory cold just after the cruise (last night and the last Sunday night for me). We would wash our hands before meals too. Where is the hand gel dispenser girls to catch everyone or a sink for wash up? We have taken 6 cruises now, (3 with carnival and three with Royal). This was our least favorite. Room view obstruction, bad excursions, and lack of shade for adults, and an illness to boot. We usually are very generous with our ratings too. Oh well, I guess we all have one of those cruises. Again, the staff, band, entertainment was great… so don’t blame them.

Wonderful Carribean Cruise by countrycritters

We really loved our cruise experience on the ship itself. Our excursions ended up not being good with all the problems we experienced due to the hurricane and then companies not showing up!

Great, but our booking rep mislead us about on board spending credits. by Arkcruiser

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Dream

I really hope this part of my review reaches someone who cares. Anya Holt/ lied to me. Hopefully this conversation is still on the recording of the day I booked but she was very clear that I was getting an on board spending credit. If my memory serves me correctly, she said it was going to be 250$. Later, on a document she sent me, it said it would have been 200$ so I'm not sure why there was a difference but regardless, we were definitely promised an on board spending credit. I even double checked with her when we were on the phone booking and she said oh yes, I will get that added for you (or something like that). I completed all of the paperwork that was in our account prior to boarding the ship. While on the ship, we talked to customer service about something else and I double checked that our on board spending credit was there. They said they had no record of it and I would have to get in touch with to get that straightened out. They said they were seeing some other credit that our kids might should have been getting (which might be where the other 50$ comes into play) but that money never showed up being available in our account either. So, I used my vacation time at each of the ports, trying to get emails out to Anya Holt who had booked our cruise. I also used time on the ship trying to call her multiple times. When she did finally respond via email, she said that it was my fault for not filling out all if my paperwork and she couldn't do anything. She was not friendly or helpful at all. I have screen shots of the emails from 3 days before our cruise proving that all of our paperwork was indeed filled out so I don't know what she is talking about (I think she just didn't want to deal with it). We feel completely ripped off by over this on board spending credit that we were promised. The biggest plus is the food. It was perfect and we loved the variety that was offered. Also, there is always something to do. Almost too many options! There are lots of free things at the jewelry stores but I had to leave dinner at least 3 times to go and get the ones I wanted (I didn't participate in most because it was too complicated and the lines were bad). So it was kind of like a super inconvenient scavenger hunt. One other thing I'd love to see improved, is the photo situation. On our previous cruise, you could just look at your photos on a kiosk, easily dump the ones you don't like, heart the ones you do, pay 20$ and download your favorites and they are sent to your phone. Super easy and it makes sense! After arriving on the ship, we found out they only do paper photos, they are 23$, and you can only get a 10$ digital download after you have purchased the paper photo. It was way more expensive, and way less convenient. We wanted to purchase 11 photos so the total was over 250$ (including tax because we were back at Galveston) for the 11 photos and they are all 8x10 paper ones which is not the size I need for my frames. Please Carnival, offer the 20$ digital download option on all ships! It will make cruisers happy!
