Review summary

Overall, for a first time cruise and going straight out the gate on an 8 day one was the best decision we ever made. We found our new way to vacation and already are looking at booking more in the future. Don’t hesitate.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was a lot smoother than had anticipated. We traveled with BC and DL only and had no issues. Got port parking, shuttled to check in, waited maybe 10 minutes to get through customs, then waited for boarding. That took maybe 30 minutes.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food had just about all the options. I would have liked more tasty vegetables with some of my main entrees. They were always undercooked and no seasoning. The buffet, was mediocre. Overall, I was very happy with the food I had over the course of 8 days. Just minor things here and there.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
There is plenty to do on the ships at various times! Some of the activities do have repeat times as well.

Entertainment

Seaside Theater

5 out of 5

The seaside theater had good movies. We watched Top Gun while having our dinner! Good quality screen and definitely could hear it.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
What a fantastic staff on this ship. No sour faces. No rudeness. All were very welcoming and very nice. Our room steward we would see twice a day if not more and ask how we were doing. Bartenders were friendly and made sure guest were taken care of.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The buffet smell was horrendous. I hated cutting through that area. One point the women’s bathroom had three toilets clogged. Other than those two things, it was maintained and kept clean! The layout, pretty easy to maneuver once you got a couple days into it. The room we got was a heavily discounted one so you get what you get. We won’t make that mistake again. Deck two, foreword, interior with no windows… no no no. My boyfriend got motion sickness very badly.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Let’s start with the positive. Our room steward was amazing. Great towel creatures and always cleaned before we returned. The size of the cabin is fine. It’s doable. For 2 people. That’s it. There is no combining the beds.. unless you want the other bed in front of the door. The beds, are 2 twin size. The tv, doesn’t work. It turns on, but is only static. If sea sickness is a possibility, this room may not be for you. You can hear and feel the waves against the side of the boat. Your balance is iffy. It’s the very first room forward on this ship.

Ports of call

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

5 out of 5
The water, blue-tiful. The sand, like someone dumped a bag of flour on the ground and you were walking in it. So comfortable beneath your feet. If you don’t rent a clamshell, there are still PLENTY of available chairs. There’s bars, excursions, dining options. We snorkeled again and saw a sea turtle and a barracuda!!

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

The excursion was made on Viator but their meeting point directions are too confusing. The shuttle said to meet at the white tent, in port, we counted at least 3 if not 4 different white tents. So we missed our shuttle. The taxis, ARE A JOKE! They refused to take a one way drive to Paradise Cove. Said it wasn’t worth it. My boyfriend even offered more. So instead, we rented a scooter and drove out to Paradise Cove! SUCH A BETTER IDEA. At paradise cove we saw sea turtles, stingray, and lots of fish! It was a fantastic time!!

Nassau, Bahamas

We did the dolphin swim at blue lagoon! Although, we wish the trip was longer, we did have a fantastic time. Minor storm, no big deal. We hid at the bar. ;)

Galveston, Texas

Nothing special. It’s Galveston. Being from Oklahoma, we have been to Galveston many times. They made embarkation a breeze though.

Key West, Florida

We didn’t do an excursion, just roamed around. Still had a great time.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
The easiest. They went by muster stations and we were Muster A3. We were off the boat by 8:01 and back to the car by 8:30ish.
