Review summary

Our 7th and last Carnival cruise!!! If RC and Celebrity have fallen as much, we will quit cruising.

Embarkation

We had, supposedly, Priority Embarkation, because we had a Suite Cabin. I couldn't see any Priority while we waited in a 120-person line.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Worst food ever in Crimson Main Dining Room!!! Sadly, the wait service matched the food...

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

High School Glee Club level of performances. Minimal props due to LED screen.

Service and Staff

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
Older, very dated ship. Seemed poorly maintained: Water dripping, rust everywhere, worn tacky carpet.

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
Got 2 free bottles of water as a perq for a 14-night cruise...big whoop!!! Incessant banging/thumping noises in our cabin kept us awake almost every night.

Ship tip

Don't Ship is old and unpleasant and the better crews and hotel staffs work on newer, more popular ships.

Took a train ride excursion advertised to see Atlantic and Pacific oceans in the same day. We saw neither.

Puerto Limon, Costa Rica

Train ride was advertised as "Open Air Train"...it was "Open Window Train". Boat went 400 yds down a canal and back.

Disembarkation

Again, was advertised as Priority Debarkation. Gathered about 30 of us in a room opposite the end with elevator access. Advertised as "Carnival personnel will escort you off the ship". Time to leave came and the Carnival guy left as well after telling us to go to the other end and catch an elevator. Elevators were jam packed to go from deck 3 to deck 2 . We finally got on an UP elevatior and went to deck 10 before stopping on every floor on the way down; becoming full on deck 8. For every deck stop thereafter, we were completely full and no one got on.
