Review summary

Outside of my wife not feeling well, we had a good time.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
I would like Carnival to figure this Covid testing out out. My family and I ad to sweat it out wondering if our test results would come back in time for the cruise. Either do away with the test all together or make it so we all have time to take it and get the results back in a timely manner.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The buffet was normal, the same. Did not try the specialty dining this go round and the main dining wasn’t bad at all. We went a total of three days because my wife got a bad sunburn plus a cold.

The Gathering Lido Restaurant

4 out of 5

Lido was better on some days of the cruise than others. I loved the salad Lido breakfast was decent which is why I chose to eat at the omelette station.

Carnival Deli

5 out of 5

I had my usual tuna sandwich, lightly toasted, still good along with the fries. I added another food item to my menu. The chicken fillet is awesome. The crispness and the flavor, both make it tasty to the point I don’t want the bun.

Pizzeria del Capitano

3 out of 5

The pizza was ok. Except for the night before debarkation. I got a hot one right out of the oven and to my surprise. The crust was nice and chewy, not hard per its regular way of making them. I wonder if I can ask to have it made that way all the time. I will text it out and let you know.

BlueIguana Cantina

5 out of 5

I tried the fish and pork tacos and they were very good. The fish had a good breading on it and the pork had a good taste. The breakfast burrito has always been good to me.

Guy's Pig & Anchor Bar-B- Que Smokehouse

3 out of 5

My wife and I didn’t like the anchor. The meat was fatty and the sides were not good at all.

Guy's Burger Joint

5 out of 5

This doesn’t need any introduction or a review. I will and have eaten my weight in these burgers.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
For the first time since I’ve been cruising, I got in the pool three times and I have to say I enjoyed it. It wasn’t to crowded but enough people to chat with randomly.

Jackpot Casino

4 out of 5

I played a total of 50 dollars over a two day try and I came away with nothing. I liked it and will be back in there in June of next year.

Guest Services / Excursions Desk

4 out of 5

The lines were long both times but when moved decently and they helped both my daughter and I out quickly.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The 80’s music show was great. They did there thing both nights.

Children's Programs

No children, and my teenage daughter has not tried to be involved with the club since her first cruise. She finds a pack to run with and they run together till it’s over.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff was very nice and accommodating. V, our dinner staff was a nice person separately from his work persona. Had many hats and when I saw that hat on and off the ship, he was always smiling and pleasant. Always stopped to chat for a few minutes. Erickson was our room steward and he also had a pleasant way about him. Erickson made things happen when my wife wasn’t feeling well. They made our trip a nice one .

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was constantly kept up. My first time on the Dream was four days and all we did was play cards and drink. We had a nice size group with ys so we stayed busy having a good time with each other. I say that because this time around, we saw the ship. We walked and explored this time. I enjoyed the art throughout the ship. The layout seemed to be a bit confusing to me this time more than previous cruises. I don’t know why but it didn’t take away from the experience.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The size of the cabin was standard for a carnival ship. Three people sharing a cabin wasn’t to bad. We still had room to maneuver. Mr. Erickson always kept the cabin very clean with a towel animal.

Ship tip

I don’t have any advice. Have fun!!!

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

3 out of 5
This was an embarkation and debarkation port, nothing more.

Key West, Florida

4 out of 5
If you want to get around you might want a scooter, car a bike please book them in advance. We did not and we ended up walking to this very compact beach. It was cool for what it was, cool place yo get drinks and food 15 seconds away.

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

5 out of 5
The island and beach were nice. We took a van thinking we were just going some of the island and head to the beach instead of taking one straight to the beach so it took a while to get there. The beach itself, you have to try it, just get there early to get a umbrella. It’s extremely hot.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

5 out of 5
Another nice beach and no shelter. This is where the sunburn of 2022 started.

Nassau, Bahamas Did not visit port

My wife wasn’t feeling well up to this point.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Typical debarkation. It went smoothly

Traveler Photos

We became gold this cruise so we got our pin. My typical picture, lol. Welcome to pirate island!! Leaving the Bahamas Is this how the pirate women dressed because I seriously missed out, lol. We don’t like him, he probably dated her. Not a fan!!! It will take a while but you’ll get there. Take a trip You can pick a point and take the road or sea less traveled.
