Review summary

Overall great cruise, even at full capacity! Would do it again

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Embarkation was good, not great. Arrived at our scheduled time and lines were long but moved quickly. Too many check in points. 1st was VeriFLY/document check. 2nd was security/metal detectors. 3rd was if you were bringing wine and sodas on board. The 4th was sign and sail accounts (didn’t matter if you were opening a cash acct or using a credit/debit card).

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was wonderful! The main dining room was great but the buffet was hit or miss and after a few days, we were over it. The Seafood Shack, Blue Iguana, Carnival Deli and Mongolian Wok were great! I didn’t care too much for Guys Burgers.

Carnival Deli

5 out of 5

Sandwiches were great! The meatball sandwich was the best.

Pizzeria del Capitano

5 out of 5

Great late night option

The Gathering Lido Restaurant

4 out of 5

Hit or miss and after a couple of days, we were over it. Not a lot of variety.

Scarlet Dining Room

5 out of 5

The staff was wonderful and the food was too.

Guy's Burger Joint

2 out of 5

It’s a flavor-less burger that was only enhanced with tons of sauce.

BlueIguana Cantina

5 out of 5

Lunch was great, didn’t care too much for breakfast as they only use powered eggs🤮

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We did the Dive In movies, trivia, comedy shows and Playlist Productions. The thalasaotherapy spa package was well worth it!!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Cat Trio is a MUST!!!!! Playlist Productions and RT Streker (????) the comedian was hilarious!!!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our staff was the BEST!!! Zola, Ocean Plaza bar; Oka, Alan and Dewa in the Scarlet restaurant; Cha, our room steward; Juna, room stewart floor manager, Melvin, casino floor manager.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
For an older ship, I thought it was well maintained. The layout and design of the decks were easy to navigate.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
This was a cove balcony room that provided great relief from the sun. The cabin was clean, spacious (just two of us) and plenty of closet space.

Ship tip

Pack your patience!! Our cruise was great but oftentimes it was run over by unruly teens and children who were left unsupervised and recked havoc! There is only one US outlet in the room, however there is also a European outlet as well…consider brining a converter.

Ports of call

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
Definitely not my favorite, we’ve been here several times. There is construction going on at the port so walking from the ship to the beach does take longer than in the past.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

5 out of 5
By far the best private island that we’ve been too. The tendering process was easy, the beach and water were breathtaking!

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

3 out of 5
We’ve done this port before and didn’t feel the need to explore it again.

Galveston, Texas

5 out of 5

Key West, Florida

5 out of 5
First time there and we LOVED it!! We didn’t book a tour but decided to do our own thing. Great stop if you forgot to pack something.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We did self assist and the longest part was waiting for our muster station to be called.
