This was the most disappointing cruise I have ever taken. They were celebrating the 50th year of Carnival and you would never know it except for one banner. There was no electricity in the air! It was a dull vacation.
Embarkation
1 out of 5
Waited in line for hours to get on even with the last time slot selected to board - 1:30. No one ever asked to see our negative covid test so we had to jump through hoops to get the right test on the right day and they never even looked at it!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
Food was worse than all my other 10 cruises before. Same food nearly each day, food was rarely hot, and bland
Onboard Activities
1 out of 5
Hardly had anything going on. Lots of areas open to do group games like in the past but hardly any of that was going one. Most activities were trivia.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The guest shows and performances were terrific.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
I had all exceptional service EXCEPT for the anytime dining. Had to wait 30 minutes for a table for two and then they seated us right next to another table for two - inches away. It might was well be a table for four. After making it clear again I needed a table for just two, the host got agitated at us and then disgustingly gave us a booth for us. Food was not much better. We were there celebrating our anniversary and after that experience, we never ate in that dining room again.
Ship Quality

Big problems here. When people left from the lido buffet seating area, dishes were not cleared off for a long long time. Most of the time we have to move someone elses dishes away. And every table we sat in for the entire cruise in the lido area was sticky and gross.
Cabin / Stateroom

The best part of the whole cruise. The balcony overlooks the lido deck and hot tub so not quite the complete privacy or quiteness but it was still worth it.
Looking forward to cruising on Dream in July! I’m sorry that your expectations weren’t met but I do hope that you at least found the cruise relaxing. I think every cruise line is experiencing staffing shortages and that makes me wonder (beyond the money) why was their a rush to get back to sailing at full capacity. I, too have been to these islands but I’m cruising more for the relaxation.
Wherein lies the problem…..lack of staff and cutbacks. The lack of staff shows big-time. Carnival needs to step it up. Ships are back to being full so it’s time to make the ships full staffed.
We had a blast on this cruise
Pub crawl in key west, spent 300 in Freeport shops, Breezes resort in Nassau and HMC prettiest beach on earth. Sex, drugs and rock and roll. Entertainers on ship best in 26 cruises. A cruise is what you make it, i guess.
