Review summary

Overall, it was an amazing cruise and the ports of call were great. For some reason, we could not go to Key West. I was glad to get back to cruising and enjoying the ship amenities and entertainment.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Little Confusion during check-in, long lines and the special appointments time does not work

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The ship is a little older and needs an upgrade. But the activities were great.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Walking and eating and discovering the ship

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The entertainment was amazing. I attended the daily night shows and I loved the Comedians shows, typically 4 in a row.

Children's Programs

Solo cruiser

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The ship services were amazing especially the food variety and choices. The staffs were very friendly and helpful.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ship design is great, but the ship is an old ship and needs an upgrade.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The room was clean and the attendant made up the room daily.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

4 out of 5
Galveston is okay. I just arrived there to board the ship.

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

3 out of 5
It is an industrial port.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

5 out of 5
I loved this island, especially swimming. The activities are great. I did not do an excursion, I brought my snorkeling gear and I used them to discover the closeby rocks for fish.

Nassau, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Nassau is a beautiful port and there were many activities a person can do. I did not do an excursion. I took a taxi with three other couples and we toured the city including Atlantis Resort.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
The disebarkation was fine. The only issue was that they ran out of luggage tags and I had to drag my luggage out of the ship on my own.

The Carnival Dream dry dock was not a major upgrade and was more of routine maintenance. However, it’s the chance the cruise line will have to make some minor upgrades such as carpeting and decor. In 2017, the ship received a major upgrade with all the FUN 2.0 enhancements, including the popular Guy’s Burger Joint.

Was on the Dream on supposedly her second cruise in 2010 as she started construction in 2009. She has had up grades every three years since. I’m not sure when a ship gets the classification of old.

Thanks for the info. I’ll be doing the same cruise on thanksgiving week 🛳🛳 I also agree the dream needs an upgrade in general.

Thank you for the review, I don’t understand comments about a ship being older, I for one love older ships
