Review summary

We loved our first cruise. The food, entertainment and boat were more than we expected. We have already booked our next cruise so I think that speaks to how impressed we were with the staff and amenities.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Everything went quickly and smoothly. We were on the boat before 11:30 getting our vacation started.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The buffets had a variety of food and the dining areas were clean and organized. The specialty restaurants were delicious especially Bonsai and The Seafood Shack.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We visited the fitness center and it was clean with everything we needed.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The show performances were amazing. There are a lot of talented people on this cruise. The cruise director Gary was a highlight of the trip.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We had amazing wait staff, Greg, Wayan and Gary. Our room steward was also amazing. I had the best massage of my life from Ms. D (can’t remember full name) in the spa, she was so courteous, and attentive to all my needs.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
All common areas were clean and well maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The cabin was comfortable and bigger than I expected. The shower is a little on the small side.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

Cozumel, Mexico

Yes we went to the beach and had lunch. It was a great man made beach. The drinks were very watered down but an overall pleasant experience.

Progreso (Merida), Mexico

3 out of 5
This was a nice port. The bus ride into progreso was okay but the drop off area is a bit chaotic. There are several people trying to force you to buy something it was frustrating. We took a city tour and had a wonder tour guide who shares the cities, culture and history.

Disembarkation

2 out of 5
Unfortunately this is where things went a little down hill. Due to heavy fog the ship was very late getting to the port in Galveston. This could not be helped and completely understandable. The staff did an amazing job at feeding everyone all day and keeping us entertained while we were stranded. My complaint is with the actual disembarking which was pure chaos. We were hoarded in a survival of the fittest line through random exits and advised to wait on the elevators when the stairs would have been so much faster. It’s understandable that this process would be hectic based on the circumstances but it is unacceptable how unorganized and frustrating it was.
