Review summary

The first sea day had rough seas and my wife discovered she has motion sickness. After that things were better. There has to be a better port than progresso for a five day cruise out of Galveston

We actually liked progreso! We took a double decker tour bus around the city then went to a beach and hung out. Very authentic and not so touristy!

Yup, in the days of yore, they would go to Tampico. At least Progreso will get you to world class ruins.

It is what you make of it! There are plenty of people on here who have given good suggestions on things/places to do and go in Progresso. We have not been yet but will be in Febr and we will get off the ship and enjoy ourselves- it is up to us to make sure of it! I seen to many complaints on other ports as well.
