Review summary

I have no issues with Carnival in general, but the Carnival Dream is not one I would book again. I have sailed with Royal 3 times and Carnival twice - can say I definitely prefer Royal.

The food was mediocre - we skipped the buffet after trying it twice...food just wasn't good enough to wait in the long line for. The pizza was great as was the burrito bar. Main dinning food was just ok, but service was great.

Onboard Activities

The pools are RIDICULOUSLY small! Not enough shade/umbrellas. So many people crammed into the tiny pools that my kids didn't even want to go back to the pool after the first day - huge bummer for the whole family.

Not much to do if your kiddos are older than 5....mine are 12 and 14...they were bored..and with the pools being so small and over crowded...
