I would take this ship again on a different itinary, but would definitely buy the drink package next time.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
We have had better embarkations but it do go smoothly,
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Dining room food was OK but nothing to brag about. The Gathering and specialty restaurants were good however. Best pizza and burgers that I've ever had on a cruise ship and hte pizzas were 24 hours a day ! We found the drinks were very expensive and reminded me why I prefer the Norwegian line.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Pools were good and crowded as usual. Lots of hot tubs (I thought the mid-ship tubs were a very good addition) Mini-golf was great as well.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Comedy club was fun but the stage entertainment was mostly game show themes.
Children's Programs
No kids.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Service was excellent as usual. Hats off and special mention to Paddi (room attendent) (I'm sure I spelled that wrong) and Anak (bartender) for service above and beyond.....thanks guys and gals.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
My favorite Carnival ship so far. Really enjoyed the size and smaller entertainment areas and bars. A really functional and beautiful design job.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
I'm not sure of the cabin number since they don't put it on the room keys anymore, but it was a rear-facing wrap-around balcony and it was a very good layout.
Ship tip
Plan on a higher bar bill than you would normally have, the Gathering's food is better than the Main Dining.
Traffic was crazy slow, and it's not an island that you want to wander unescorted. That being said, the people are warm and gracious and I do love the island.
We love this port because you can wander off the boat without an excursion and find good shopping, great food (try Pedro's Backyard), and warm locals !
Went pretty smooth. My wife elected to give up the bags instead of taking them off ourselves so it went a little slower than I would have liked, and the bus took about 40-45 minutes to get to us because of traffic congestion at the port.
