Ship is larger than what we were use to. Great time!

Surprisingly smooth and easy. Best embarkation experience we have had so far.

Food and Dining

The best thing on board for food is Guy's Burgers, Blue Iguana, and Pig & Anchor. The food in the dining room and buffet is just okay. I don't think Carnival has good tasting food overall. We usually don't expect much from the food anyways. The Dr Seuss breakfast and Bella Pasta was probably the worse meals we had.

Entertainment

We saw a couple shows and most of the performers did an amazing job!
Children's Programs

Our 8 year old son enjoys camp a lot. Our 7 year old son, not so much. He will go sometimes. Its not that the camp doesn't offer enough, its that he has separation anxiety. They like playing video games at camp, watching movies, and doing different activities.
Service and Staff

Our room steward Darvin did a great job. Out wait staff in the dining room was excellent. I pre ordered a cake for our sons birthday and somehow the order didnt get sent to dining room. Our waitstaff were in kind of a panic but were able to get another cake for him, though it was not the one we ordered, it was still delicious. This of course was no fault of the dining room. All the personnel we came in contact with were very friendly. Alex the cruise director is one of the best we have experienced on a cruise. He did a great job keeping everyone informed and entertained. He was super friendly and always upbeat! My kids especially loved him! When we would see him out, they acted like he was a celebrity. They would get excited!

The decor of the ship is beautiful. They keep the ship clean. No issues here.

This was our first time having a cove balcony. It took getting use to but by the 2nd day of the cruise we loved it. We always had puddles of water on the balcony deck and sometimes the chairs would be wet. Our room was nice an could accommodate 4 people. We had a pull down bed and a couch that turned into a bed. There is a fridge and hair dryer in the room as well. The light for the bathroom took about a minute or two to warm up and fully come on.
New Orleans has a lot of history and is a beautiful city to look at. Suggest taking a tour of some sort. We did a mule carriage ride and our guide was very informative. If you love nightlife and to party, this is also your kind of town. We had young kids with us, so this wasn't an option. It also isn't a place for children. The traffic is insane, suggest taking public transportation. Pedestrians everywhere as well.
The port is set up so you don't have to leave it. Shopping, restaurants, pool, dolphin swim, and other activities. We wanted a beach so we headed out of the port area. We were just looking for a taxi or shuttle. We somehow ended up paying $10 pp to be taken to this beach area where we got table/chairs or loungers. It was very crowded. The moment you arrive you are fresh meat to all the sellers on the beach. Every single minute someone comes up to sell you something. The area was crowded. The water was nice but lots of fish/crabs. There was some seaweed and debris in the water. The kids had fun though. We only stayed an hour because the sellers were just way too much for us. We dont mind people trying to sell things, they need to make a living, but seriously you could not relax here.
You tender here (water shuttle) to port. We had a little bit of rough waters here. We waited until about 11 am to get off the ship, after most people were already off. We just went to port to check it out and shop. We didn't have any issues. Others in our group did a cave tubing excursion. They said the island is pretty run down and did not really enjoy themselves.
This was our favorite stop. Too bad the weather was not so great. It was super windy here that day and did sprinkle for about 15 minutes. We also got some sun too. We reserved to go to Nachi Cocum Beach Club months before our cruise. They offer different packages. We got free drinks and food. My wife also got a 45 minute massage on the beach. The water was pretty rough here because it was so windy. The kids did play at the shore for a while. They then went into the pool. This place was super nice and Im sure even better on a nice weather day. The port we were at in Cozumel was huge. Lots to do and shopping. There were 6 other ships at port the day we were there. Though they have several docks spread out.
