Review summary

We are on the cruise now and right from the start the drinking water smells and has a musty taste, The Guest Services staff tell us you don’t drink the water from the taps but the water in the Main Dining Room has the same bad tasting and smelling water. We are Paltinum member on two other cruise lines and this is our fourth and last Carnival cruise and first time we ever experienced the bad drinking water.

Water in the main dining rooms was horrible. Also got sick with a respiratory infection. Not sure what it was. I rarely get sick.

Probably that good ol’ Mississippi River water! Never noticed it, but then again, we usually only drink ships water in the main dining room and it’s usually pretty good. We pre-purchase two twelve packs of bottled water for our cabin. It’s a bargain on Carnival. It’s half the price of what we paid for water on NCL and Princess.

Good more for us! Hehe you can get water delivered to your room.

Love the Dream. Besides the water, how about the wonderful crew, incredible food, nice cabins. beautiful ship??????? If you let drinking water ruin your cruise you really missed a lot. So sorry for you!!!

I drink ALOT of water. One cruise, I drank from the tap in the bathroom almost every morning and every night before bed. I was sick as a dog by about day 4 or 5. I had to obtain medication during the cruise and it took about 3 months to get over the respiratory infection. Coincidence? Maybe, but I never drank from the tap on another cruise.

The Dream is our favorite ship so far. However, the water is absolutely nasty. We order bottles to be delivered to the room ahead of time.

Instead of letting it ruin your cruise why don't you just order a case of bottled water. Its like 4 bucks.

We have been on the dream twice and have never experienced this. Looking at your profile you've been on 0 cruises and 0 cruises for future.

I've sailed the Dream and didn't have that problem. But if the ship is aware of the problem, then you should request bottled water to drink and it should not cost you anything.

It's something about the Dream's water.... I do not like it either. I was told it is filtered the same way as the other ships; all the other ships, the water is good & pleasant to drink. I have been on the Dream 3x and always the same. But I never got sick, it's just a harsh tast; almost metallic. One person said she adds lemon and it helps.

Good to know, and sorry to her that. That would be bad, and I would be mad too. We’ve never had that happen before, that sucks.
