Ship tip
go with a positive attitude and everything around you is clean, stafc very attentive and relax you dont have to cook or clean..it wonderful and your on vacation!
Key West was the best port we got off at by far for us. We took a tour of the island and learned alot about the island and what is offered there. We walked up and down Duvall Street which offered alot of shopping, bars, entertainment, whatever sparks anyone, they have it here. We would highly recommend this port.
At this port we took a bus tour with our driver named Rolie, which he was very friendly and very informative about this port and the people and cultures of the island. It is a shame the hotels and majority of this island that was devastated by hurricanes never recovered and rebuilt.its a very poor port to stop at. Besides the bus tour, we don't wanna get off here anymore, the prices on souvenirs were pricey also.
It was raining hard all morning and our excursion was cancelled. We instead, decided to walk around town and pass the gate there were way too many taxi cab and tour drivers drove us crazy begging us to take a taxi or tour through the island along with being approached by a couple guys wanting us to buy weed. We shopped down town and it was pricey, we went to the straw market and bought some souvenirs but they were pushy trying to get us to buy from each other but a simple no thanks is all that's needed and you can bargain easy in there for lower prices. We stopped at a restaurant and got a hamburger, 1 beer, 1 soda, french fries and tried some conch fritters and it was 80.00. While we were there the guys outside kept trying to get us to buy a cab tour, cigars, weed, buggy rides..it was crazy in town.
Loved your ship tip, going on a cruise with a positive attitude ready to enjoy and not trying to find fault is the way to go. Did you book your next cruise on-board? If so how were the prices and perks?
