Weather a little rough the first night but wonderful after that. Ship was not as elegant as I had hoped and most of the lounge areas were not very comfortable. Had a great cabin steward and several waiters were notable, most crew were very friendly. Room had bedbugs, not nice. Enjoyed the new itinerary. The food was very good in the dining room but not really impressed with buffet food. The Burgers, pizza and barbeque spots were great.
Embarkation

A little slow because ship was late getting passengers off. We had suite so was priority boarding but they didn't handle keeping people informed very well.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining

The dining room had very good food and the service was timely. The buffet had almost the exact things every morning, got boring and the evening food was fair to good. Pretty disappointed with the desserts and coffee cafe was costly and blah compared to Princess.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
Didn't do too much, used the fitness center and that was OK. The outdoor movie screen was horrible, couldn't stand to watch any. Looked in at a few shows but nothing too interesting otherwise. Don't shop much, gamble or buy art so most activities around those were wasted on us.
Service and Staff

Our room steward was great and we had a few really great waiters in the dining room. Most in the buffet area were just so so.
Ship Quality

I liked all the stairway options but the lounge areas with good views outside without a lot of noise were minimal. Really missed having an area like on Princess to get coffee, pastries, sandwiches and then sit and enjoy some quiet entertainment.
Cabin / Stateroom

It was plenty big and lots of storage. Balcony not very deep. I would have given it a higher rating but near the end of the trip I was bitten by bed bugs......not a very nice way to end the trip.
Ship tip
If you like Princess cruise ships this will disappoint, but if you have kids and/or have cruised with Carnival before it will be OK.
Decided to walk off and carry luggage....evidently everyone else did too. Couldn't get an elevator so ended up taking the stairs. Easiest through customs of any cruise ever!!
Oh thank you π was not sure to use that word lightly lol π but then i Guess your right troll ... why not tell all what happened so we can all be aware .. yep and full of crap that works too .. ta
Jitterbug in this situation it means someone who writes a review with very limited information and then doesn't answer any requests for further information to help other posters. like this character still has not responded to someone asking what cabin he was in
Not a troll. Really had bugs but didn't realize till at home. The ship just was not what I expected. Sorry that not liking something makes me a troll. Princess lines are a better fit for the cruising I have enjoyed (4 so far). And it wasn't elegance, just more comfortable and relaxing areas ( with great coffee, desserts and entertainment)
I can't believe this was the same cruise I was on! Hilarious the difference in perception between two reviews. I will say that I didn't get on the boat for elegance on the other hand. For the record, I saw no bed bugs or signs of em. Housekeeping staff were ever vigilant and the towel monkeys keep a sharp eye out ; -)
Yea and u know as well as I that if there was actually bed bugs they would get rid of those mattresses in a hurry. No way they would let that happen. I love the dream and can't wait to sail on her again in October.
I was the Dream in March and didn't have any problems. It was rough seas at the start, but after that ended it was smooth cruising for the remainder of the cruise. No bed bugs, should have posted what room to help sell your post.
