Review summary

Overall, it was a good experience for us. We learned what we liked and what we didn't like. Will definitely do a couple things different next time but overall we had a good time.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The formal dinners at night were wonderful and so was the buffet for breakfast! As far as specialty restaurants, I personally really enjoyed the Indian restaurant and the taco bar. My husband really enjoyed Guy's burger bar and the pizza buffet.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The pools were nice and the "serenity" part of the ship was relaxing. We appreciated the salon/spa on board because my husband ended up getting a haircut while we were on the ship.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
We really enjoyed the love & marriage game and quest. The comedians were okay and the DJ's were okay. We do wish there had been more games at night like the love and marriage game and quest.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Our room steward, Owen, was very sweet! And for our formal dinners we had an amazing server named Cid. He was absolutely excellent and made the experience that much more enjoyable. The two other servers that worked with him for our large group were also great - Mitchell and Komang. We loved them all. Overall the entire ship's staff was wonderful. The only one we didn't appreciate was one of the supervisor's in the buffet/main dining area named Adrian. He was very unpleasant and it was uncomfortable watching how he treated the staff.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Our cruise was booked as a group with 9 other people and everyone's stateroom was a good size except for ours. We all paid the same price and they were booked at the same time with our travel agent as a group so I am not sure how we got the short end of the stick with our stateroom. It was very small and cramped compared to the others.

Ports of call

New Orleans, Louisiana

3 out of 5
After visiting New Orleans, I am personally not a fan. Will definitely be booking a cruise out of a different port next time.

Montego Bay, Jamaica

3 out of 5
Montego Bay, Jamaica was our least favorite place to go. We booked a large van with a "tour guide" who drove us around the island a little bit and took us to a place to shop and then to the beach. Even so, it didn't feel like there was much to do in Jamaica that felt safe and the fact that we had to pay to get into the beach was a little surprising. I definitely wouldn't have felt comfortable exploring the island on our own.

George Town, Grand Cayman

5 out of 5
We loved Grand Cayman! We went to 7 mile beach and by far it was the cleanest and most beautiful beach we went on this whole trip! The water was crystal clear! We also went jet skiing which was really fun.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Mexico was so fun! We did an all inclusive excursion at a private beach club called Nachi Cocom which was very nice and not overcrowded at all. We enjoyed a wonderful massage on the beach and lots of drinks and food. Mexico was also our favorite place for shopping! The port had so many awesome shops with good prices!

It is so nice that other Cruisers take the time to tell of their experiences and ideas and advice. One can gain a great deal of knowledge from these reviews.

Still learning after many cruises. Like a Hiwire act with a net. Always exciting but sometimes you fall into a net.

Even after 10 more cruises you (and I) will still be learning. Enjoy your future lessons.

And that is what cruising is about. :-)
