Review summary

Very disappointing nothing like my first cruise the ship had mechanical problems and instead of stopping at our last port to correct the problem they sailed past and stopped in middle of ocean for four hours to correct the problem. Very disappointing and traumatic

I was on this cruise and it was a little scary. The ship was making strange noises and movements night before. The next morning we were told we weren't going to Cozumel. No one told us anything till 10am. Staff wouldn't tell anything except wait for the captain's announcement. Then we sat in the middle of the ocean without moving for four hours while they tried to fix it. So yes for some people it could have traumatic. You weren't there so how can you comment on an experience you didn't have?

Yes it's a review but traumatic? C'mom now. The captain made the the correct decision. He wasn't sure if the repair they performed would work or not. He did make sure everyone that had flights from Nola that Sunday were ok and passengers on the next cruise leave on time. Plus a $50 (2 bucket of beer) credit and a wonderful sea day. In this unfortunate situation, kudos to Carnival!

I'm not discounting the review, I would like to know how it was traumatic though. It may be concerning if Carnival didn't react appropriately to the mechanical situation as it applies to the guests and their safety. In a former life as a fireman, I know trauma as well. If you were traumatized personally by sitting in the middle of the Gulf for several hours, that is one thing and no one should try to rationalize or diminish that feeling for you. If you were traumatized by something Carnival or its employees did during this event, that another thing. As far as we know the cruise line didn't purposely damage the ship and events like this can happen even if they are less likely to happen in this mode of transportation. I hope that regardless of your cruise line preference, you keep on cruising and always make the best of any situation.

Helllo people. It's a review. If she didn't like it, so what? If she used the word traumatic, what's the big deal? If the review was less than satisfactory based on the her opinion, deal with it. That's what a review is ... a subjective opinion about the experience. It's not a slight against if you loved the experience on the Dream. I personally, had a mixed review about the ship. Decent but not great. It's a review, not a personal attack on your 'family'.

I hate seeing how mean some people can be when leaving a comment. If your gonna be rude, just don't say anything. We don't leave reviews and say how we feel about our experience, just so you can bash us. Love people..not hate!! Just saying!! 😆😊😃

Look I gave my opinion and you know nothing about me or my life. I work in traumas everyday and yes some are worse than others so please do not judge. I paid to have a good time and yes maybe a little nieve but forgive me for being disappointed about my cruise and forgive me for expecting and wanting a good experience on vacation

Sorry to hear this. This was the ship that was on the news that had engine problems and had to limp back to New Orleans.

Yes. Cruise ruined because of a mechanical problem with the ship. That should never happen when I book a cruise.
