Review summary

Carnival delivers very good value. As typical, the food and staff service exceed expectations at this price point. It's a big ship, so activities and space can get crowded - a little advance planning helps a lot to avoid the worst of the lines.

Carnival Dream cabins are larger than most in industry, but it would seem that Carnival (the entire industry?) has cut back on the servicing of the cabins. For the first time we were asked to pick a service time (morning or afternoon) and if you missed that window, your cabin did not get serviced that day. On prior cruises the cabin stewards were like magic - you could leave your cabin for a half hour and somehow the cabin would be cleaned/serviced when you got back. I appreciate the effort to control costs but I miss this service.

Ship tip

The steakhouse is worth the $35 up charge - next time we'll book a couple of nights there. It an enormous ship; planning activities around shoulder times (ie. get to sea day BBQ early or late to avoid standing in a forever-taking line) is a must.

Sunshine, do you work for Carnival? The reason I ask is that whenever someone says anything remotely negative about this company, you chastise them greatly. Just let them state their opinion. It's not a personal attack about you so deal with it
