Review summary
As almost always, we had a great time on our cruise this April. This was cruise #30 for us, so you can immediately assume that we love cruising. That's 30 on Carnival,, been on 4 others, 2 Norwegian, 1 Holland American, & 1 Princess. Nicest cruise line by far was Holland American.
Seems that the eating experience on Carnival is getting less attractive as time goes on. They are pushing you toward eating at (extra charge) locations.
The absolute best place that we've tried so far is the Steakhouse. For $35/a person, you can get a first class meal that would cost up to double that in a local "fine" restaurant. We do the Steakhouse on every cruise since we've discovered it. Word of advice, go online and make your reservation before your cruise. They now have a Sushi restaurant, which I really don't care for, everybody brags on it though.
Guy's Burger Joint is a top choice for burgers for lunch,,, worth the wait in line for.
The Dining Room experience seems to be less and less popular. The wait staff is spread pretty thin and the wait time is growing longer and longer. No tablecloths, and you put your own napkin in your lap. We've learned that when you select "Your Time Dining" you can plan dining around onboard activities easier.
CASINOS...
I heard more than one person complaining about the Slot machines and Video Poker machines being not very well maintained. The buttons would stick and not work properly on a lot of them. The payback percentage seemed to be a lot lower than local land based Casinos. I noticed a young couple at the Craps table frequently that I know made a significant contribution to the house. On about the third day of the cruise, the Pit boss was rude to them without good reason (in my opinion). This really ticked me off.
There were probably other things that I could complain about, but I won't....
oh wait,,,,, they only had 2 Ice Cream locations on the Dream and quite often, at least one of them was out of Ice Cream.
Well were booked again for October on the same boat.

Ship tip
Try to get a room as close to the center of the ship as you can. Makes it convenient to get to Lido or Casino.
