Review summary

My wife and I are retired and raising our granddaughter. After all three of us getting flu shots and taking extra vitamins for three months my wife contracted the norovirus on the 4th day (Wednesday) of the cruise. She was quarantined for almost 2 days and could not eat until the Sunday after we returned. I emailed Carnival looking for some kind of compensation but have not received a reply after three (3) weeks. As far as we are concerned the vacation was a total disaster. We were no less traumatized than any of the nearly 700 people on a recent Royal Caribbean Explorer of the Seas cruise. We would like to know what to do next.

Ship tip

Ship was not designed to accommodate the activities of 3000 people on the 3 days at sea. Pools and Mini golf were so crowded it was better to stay in your room. The food in the main dining room was OK at best. Very little variation in the menu for the cruise.

Very sorry to hear of your poor experience. A number of cruise lines go out of their way to help make sick cruisers feel tended to while in quarantine but doesn't sound like carnival is one of them.  Unfortunately, don't expect much from Carnival.

Sorry you had a bad cruises.   Getting sick on a ship is no fun,  stuck in the cabin with a bad TV selection.   The ship motion does not help when your feeling sick.  I have typically had great service on Carnival only 2 bad crew encounters out of 5 cruises on carnival.   One bad guest relations person on the Glory and a not so great waiter on the Imagination.  The Steak house goes off of reservation and tends to book up early because it is a great dinner for only $ 35.00. They may not have had an opening later in the cruise to change you to.

Oh I am sure not, they are the same ones that hire the rude employees. Carnival doesn't know what good service is NOR GOOD FOOD! My roommate was sick most of the time as well from the food, so bad that the night we went to the Steak House (who wouldn't let us re-schedule, because she didn't feel good) she took a bite of a little bit of everything and couldn't even eat her Lobster.

Thanks for posting your review here.  I am so sorry that your cruise was ruined by sickness.  I don't think the cruise line will compensate you, unfortunately.
