Review summary

The crew on the Carnival Destiny are some of the friendliest people in the travel industry. I was very impressed with the attention that was paid to my young son during the trip. Any questions we had were answered quickly. The number of dining choices, as well as the quality of the food were terrific.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The dining options are terrific, varying from formal dining, to buffet style, including a 24 hour pizzeria, a New York Deli, and chinese food

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The lack of diving excursions was a dissapointment for some people travelling with us, especially since we were cruising the southern carribean.

Service and Staff

They are terrific!!!

Ship Quality

This ship is extremely well kept, considering its enormous size.

Cabin / Stateroom

The bathrooms are a bit small.

Ports of call

St. John's, Antigua

5 out of 5
The people were extremely informative and helpful with respect to helping the divers in our group try to find a dive boat (unfortunately, the ship pulls into this port one hour later than the other ships, and therefore the dive boats are already out by the time we arrive). The beaches are breathtaking. I plan to return for an extended vacation in the future
Don't Miss: Private snokel adventure, or a visit to Jolly Harbor Beach

Castries, St. Lucia

The town immediately near the port is in ruins. Vagrants are all around, and get nasty if you refuse to purchase what they're selling. We walked half a block from the port and quickly became uneasy. We returned to the mall in the port and were greeted by vendors who seemed to be put off if you asked them a question. I wanted to go on this cruise specifically to visit this island. I will NEVER return!!!

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
People are extremely friendly; great shopping opportunities
Don't Miss: The excursion to St. John was terrific. Shopping is best in this port

Bridgetown, Barbados

5 out of 5
The people are friendly, and the beaches are georgeous!. I plan to return to Barbados for a future vacation.
Don't Miss: Tiami Sea, Sail, and Turtles ( you actually swim with sea turtles)

Pros: The staff was friendly, great activities on board

Cons: Lack of diving excursions considering we were in the southern carribean
