The staff was very gracious, kind and did an excellent job in very difficult circumstances, and made up for the less stellar ship. The othe cruiser passangers were NOT gracious, often rude and inconsiderate. Way too crowded.

Review summary

The above review is written by Charlotte Mayer for 1320, outside cabin and 1302, inside. Both were serviced by Joaquim and his assistant, who did a great job. The dining room service by Sandrew and assistant Radish was also excellent and a welcome escape from the over crowded cruise. The cabins were fine, but there was too much noise from below, under 1302. Overall your great staff, ship wide, made up for the ships lack of bling and the overcrowding. They worked very hard under difficult circumstances!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Very good experience, compared to all previous.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The main dining room service by Sandrew, especially, and assistant Radish was excellent! We were glad to have gluten free options. There are some widely available products you don't take advantage of, that you should, on gluten free products. Give the kitchen a break! We are a small percentage, but our whole family goes with us if we go to a different cruise line that does keep up on this rapidly changing, and GROWING market. We DO appreciate all your efforts, however.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Fitness center, pools and water slides.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Stage show was ok, but sadly not up to Carnival's pre-covid standards. Your comedians were funny, but got way too "adult" , even for late night. Its pretty bad when my 23 y/o, Christian son doesn't want to go because of it. He used to like that part of the cruise the best. Even he said they went WAY too far.

Children's Programs

No children

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our wait staff in Dining, Sandrew, especially and his helper, Radish were very attentive and the best we've ever had on a ship. Our room steward, Joaquim was very kind as well, and he and his assistant also did an excellent job, had great towel animals and catered to my husbands requests re extra pillows....They all made , what was otherwise a very noise, overcrowded cruise MUCH MORE pleasant. Our dining room and cabin were a nice escape from the noise rude crowds.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship Layout was fine, cleanliness was good and well maintained. You got a 4 instead of 5 because this was by far the plainest ship, with the least amount of pizzaz, or WOW factor of any ship we've ever been on. Perhaps you could change that next retrofit with more spectacular handrails on open staircases...

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Our son, in 1302 complained about noise from the cabins, or areas below his. OUr cabin, 1320 was a 5 star.

Ship tip

Dont book a short cruise during a school break. They are too crowded. Otherwise the ship and staff service was great.

Late night comedy shows do get bad. That's why they are rated R. Always go to the PG if it offends you. Right now most ships are selling out. So yes ships are crowded. That happens.

Appreciate your detailed review. The adult comedy shows stress that they are very adult. Always check what is above below and across from your cabin. Sorry many things weren’t to your liking.
