Review summary

Disappointed in Carnival. I love to cruise. Have been on many including past Carnival cruises. This was by far the worst. They are putting their focus on young adults to the detriment of those over 55. Will be cruising with someone else from now on.

Embarkation

2 out of 5
Followed directions by staff and ended up carrying all our luggage on board. No one told us where to take our luggage. Next thing we know we on the ramp to the ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Good menu choices. Some meat cuts were extremely fatty. Excellent wait staff.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Pools overcrowded.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
Came on the cruise expecting that 'tropical' feel at the Lido deck but it was more like spring break gone wild with club music. Bad first impression. Stage shows okay. Comedians were inappropriate during the PG rated early show. 'The Piano man' was great and so were the Violinist Duo. If you wanted to dance you had to wait till 11:30 pm for the dance club to open. Of course that was too late for us. Carnival obviously is not targeting the over 55 market and it shows.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Employees are the highpoint of the cruise.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Shouldn't have to walk through the casino to get to the other side. Smoking is allowed in the casino. The decor of the ship is outdated.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Needed maintenance.

Ship tip

If you are over the age of 55 don't expect it to be catered to your interests. A very young partying cruise with little to do if you don't drink a lot and gamble. Dining room dress codes are not enforced so what's the point. Unruly cruisers late in the night making noise in stateroom hallways. Basically a party ship with not a lot of supervision.

Ports of call

Key West, Florida

Too short a stay.

You have been on many Cruises? And you don’t know how to check your luggage? Really? I am in my mid 60’s and have a real good time on all my Cruises, I don’t feel they are catering to the under 50’s but they are the ones most involved. Maybe you need a different Cruise line or a different type vacation.

In our 70's and love cruising Carnival have over 50 cruises under our belt and we party when we want and relax when we don't

From all the reviews, it appears the Conquest has become a booze cruise. I think we all know those behaviors get worse on the short cruises

Sure doesound like you have cruised much. Especially of you didn't know what to do with your luggage. I did research before my first cruise and never missed a beat.
