Review summary

It was nice to cruise again after the cancellations due to Covid. This cruise was a quick getaway for bringing family members along but not enough time to really explore everything the ship had to offer. We typically enjoy longer vacations and have done a couple of transatlantic cruises. So this 5 day 4 night cruise on Conquest was a teaser and reminded us of how much we have missed cruising these past couple of years!

Embarkation

Embarkation was faster and smoother than we expected due to Covid restrictions finally easing up

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Main dining room food and service was excellent

BlueIguana Tequila Bar

5 out of 5

As a rule on embarking on any ship we will automatically go to the uppermost deck with a bar. On Conquest that meant deck 9. Lose the crowds and boarding madness and get yourself properly acclimated while your baggage is being delivered to your cabin! The Blue Iguana serves up an excellent selection of teguilas as well as having plenty of great margaritas to taste. A professional must always have a plan.

BlueIguana Cantina

5 out of 5

Get here early enough in the morning to beat the breakfast lines. It’s a popular choice and rightly so

Steakhouse

5 out of 5

Definitely worth the upcharge and still less than half of what you’d pay at a steak house restaurant. Service is very nice.

Monet Restaurant

Food was excellent, service was cheerful!

Alchemy Bar

5 out of 5

Come here and chill out with a cocktail before dinner

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We enjoyed a laid back cruise. The hot tubs were great, the drinks were great and the food was great. Reading my book on the balcony of my stateroom was great, too!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff on this cruise went above and beyond even though they were short staffed. Crew members we spoke with were very enthusiastic about this year’s season.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship was easy to get around and the crew was always looking after the ship

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Balcony stateroom was comfortable although the balcony was on the small side. But we enjoyed room service for breakfast on the balcony just the same. Great quiet place to catch up on your reading and have a glass of wine.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

5 out of 5
Miami is a great place to start and finish your cruise. Miami Airport, Miami Airport Center are close. Again booking far enough in advance is the way to go. The Ramada by Wyndham in Miami Springs is 24/7, has a complimentary airport shuttle every hour on the hour and you can book your cruise port shuttle with System Shuttle Miami right in the lobby. Old Tom’s Restaurant and Sports Bar is connected to this Ramada, too.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Cozumel is great anytime. A great day in port and of course Cozumel is a great place to stay on vacation, too.

Key West, Florida

5 out of 5
Key West is good anytime. Unfortunately on this cruise we docked at 7:00 am and were boarding at 1:00 pm but we knew we’d have a short stop here when we booked this cruise. Having stayed in Key West in the past I’ll say you need at least a week even if you’ve been here before.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Much faster than we expected
