Review summary

Had a great time. The ship is older but well maintained. The staff are friendly and go the extra step. I do wish they had more hand sanitizers around the ship, especially in light of the current world virus situation.

Embarkation

Showed up during our appointment window and it was a breeze

Ship experiences

Fairly current movies to watch most every night. Lots of activities to do.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ship needs some TLC, lots of rust showing. The interior areas are kept clean and well maintained. A lot of the activities are held in the atrium on the 3rd floor where there is very little seating. Plan to go early if you want a seat.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Typical inside cabin. Bed was comfortable and there was lots of storage. The cabin steward did an excellent job keeping it clean.

Ship tip

Don't try to walk on the outside stairs in bare feet. The black non slip strips get so hot in the sun it's like walking on a stove element on high!! I felt for the little ones as they were rushing up the stairs to go down the slide again and again. You could hear them each time: "ouch ouch go go"

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

We visited the Rum cake factory. I thought we would be seeing how the cakes were made but it's basically just a shopping stop with cake and rum tasting. Was disappointed with this.

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

5 out of 5
Beautiful beach with lots of chairs. Food and drink is pricey.

Belize City, Belize

No excursion - visited the shops along with wharf. Usual souvenirs.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
We did the resort excursion to Passion Island. Beautiful spot and staff really look after you. My only complaint was the actual time on the island was too short. It takes close to on hour on the "catamaran" (basically just a ferry type boat) each way.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We chose to do the express disembarkation and carry our own luggage. This was very quick and efficient.

We’ve been on 10 cruises and the Conquest was our only Carnival ship. It turned out to be one of our favorites. Older but well kept. Beautiful decor. Anyone going please make it a point to go to Deck 5, called the Sunflower Atrium. Whole deck beautiful and take a peek into Vincent’s Bar. So pretty. Food in MDR was absolutely delicious every night and we also ate breakfast there every morning. Our cabin was in the perfect location. Near elevator and took us right down to the MDR. No noise as only cabins above and below us. My daughter and her family were in cabin next to us and cabin steward was able to connect our balconies making one huge balcony. That was wonderful. Cabin spacious and very nice. Air and plumbing worked great. Our ports were fantastic. Didn’t care much for the shows we saw but that’s not why we cruise. Would definitely go on the Conquest again. Cruising is the best vacation ever 🛳🏖

The Conquest will always have a special place in our hearts since it was our first ever cruise.
