This was our first cruise and were very impressed at how hard the staff worked to make it enjoyable for us. There was more to see and do than we had time to take in. Very impressed with the cleanliness and artwork throughout the ship. Food was magnificent and unlimited. Scenery was breathtaking. We both had a feeling of peacefulness and relaxation throughout the whole experience. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and look forward to repeating it in the future.

Food and Dining

Food and drink choices were excellent. We ate in the Renoir Dining Room 4 nights and were treated like royalty. Menu choices were very good, the staff couldn't be better or more polite. Our head waiter, Tigit, became our friend and made suggestions according to our tastes. After the first night, he knew our names and placed us as we wanted. The only suggestion I have is to maintain the same excellent quality of the food each night. I ordered the Flat Iron Steak two nights in a row and the first night it literally fell of the fork tender. The next night, the same dish, I had to "saw" my way through it with the knife. Anything I wanted was delivered to my table. The buffet selections were very appropriate and included many good selections. The desserts were remarkable and delicious. The "Sweet Spot" bar was my favorite place with so many good selections. As for drinks, I purchased "Bottomless Bubbles" and has whatever I wanted anytime, except for alcoholic drinks.

Wonderful atmosphere with entertainment as well as very professional staff. Our favorite waiter was Tigit who catered to our every need as well as suggesting what we might like.
Pizza Pirate

Great for a late night snack but could use more selection of deep or crispy crusts, as well as toppings and more cheese.
Onboard Activities

We took in The "Punchline" comedy place, the main theater auditorium events, the pool, and the many different musical groups that performed each night. There was more to do that time would allow. All performances were excellent and involved talented performerts. The Karaoke events were very entertaining and well conducted.
Entertainment

Service and Staff

Our head waiter, Tigit, couldn't be nicer and responded to each and every need we had. Our room porter was on a first name basis and made up our room as often as we desired. He always said "Good morning _____' every morning when we passed on the way to breakfast and was very efficient and personable. His name was Danuri. He earned and deserved our highest praise for his handling of our room needs.
Ship Quality

In spite of the reviews we read that referred to the "Conquest" as an older ship, We were very impressed with the design, cleanliness, and artwork throughout the ship. The staff went beyond our expectations to keep it clean and fresh throughout the whole cruise. They deserve our praise for a job well done.
Cabin / Stateroom

Larger than we expected. The balcony was our favorite place. It was always kept clean and made up for us whenever we went out. The balcony was larger that I expected considering there were other rooms with "extended balconies". We didn't need more than what came with the cabin.
Ship tip
The reviewers who were dissatisfied with the "Conquest" must be very hard to please. This was our first cruise and we would request the same ship and accomodations on our next cruise. It was a wonderful experience.
The beaches left me disappointed with the hard stones and rocks in the surf and sand. I expected to do some snorkeling and immediately found the beach hard to navigate bare-footed. The shops were courteous and reasonable but limited in selection.
I was very surprised that San Juan was very cosmopolitan with clean, modern streets and attractions. We visited the Bicardi factory and an old fort before being taken to the old sedtion of downtown. The layout of the city was beautiful with much to see and the bay and waterways were beautiful, especially at night.
One of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. We took the Skytram to Paradise Point and it was well worth the ticket price. The view of the bay and surrounding city was breathtaking. Much to see and many shops available. Good chance to experience a different culture and many different activities were available.
Small shopping area but beautiful scenery. Merchants were very nice and polite. Long walk to the end of the pier but bicycle "buggies" were available. At first we thought they were for hire but later learned they were provided complementarily. This should be made known before disembarking the ship.
Totally agree with your assessment of the Carnival Conquest! It's our absolute favorite Carnival ship. We've cruised on her 5 times and would go again tomorrow
