Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Dining staff and food very good. Pleasant, efficient, friendly. Could have had a little more variety with the desserts. However the Baked Alaska was the best I ever had. Guys burgers were very tasty and there was a topping bar for more extras. Ate once at the Seafood Shack: Lobster roll: way too much mayonnaise, couldn’t taste the lobster. Bun fresh, good. If there is a line don’t bother as they do one order at a time. Burrito Bar very good. Even with a line it goes quick. Lots of ingredients to choose from. On the last day had a breakfast burrito (yum) when the buffet was slammed. We originally went to the dining rm on the last day for breakfast. After waiting 45min & seeing other large tables come and go and reporting this we finally received our breakfast. Neither of us got what we ordered. We left. Think the waiter was a newbie but this was a bad way to end otherwise pleasant dining experiences. That’s when I had a wonderful breakfast burrito that took 5 min.

Onboard Activities

Most of the time the pools were crowded. Went in once during off time. Went down water slide. It was fun but I think where the joints are scrapes your skin a little. Attended 2 talks that were good on walking correctly and on detoxing. Both quite informative but at the end want you to buy something.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The rock and roll show was excellent. The Flix show we found boring and lame. We left after 10 min. The string musicians were excellent.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All staff members in every area were friendly and helpful.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
This is an older ship but well maintained and clean. Layout typical cruise ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin comfortable and clean. Since it’s an older ship there is only one plug in. Bring your own outlet for usb etc. we also had to ask for an extension cord for hubbys cpap.

Ship tip

Order a 12pack of water for your fridge. Bring usb pwr strip. Earplugs for loud shows and outdoor movies.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

Did not do an excursion

Grand Turk Island

With two ships in port everything was so crowded. All the beach chairs on one side of the wooden pier were taken. The other side got the last two but the beach there is rocky (badly bruised toe and scraped up leg) and nothing to see when snorkeling. Pool too crowded to get in. The last time we were here we were the only ship and it was the best port. Disappointing this time.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

Some streets in town seemed a little sketchy but we had fun in the recommended shops. Had the best pina colada on the planet at Barrachinas. Walked all the way around the outside of the fort. Warning: at the end you have to be creative to get out or walk all the way back the same way you came. They should give u an easy map to follow to the fort entrance. The water and scenery is beautiful.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

Had a great time on the Kon Tikki party boat. Lots of rum punch and live music. Nice boat ride with narration. Beautiful beach and water. On the way back dancing fun!

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

We did the all inclusive beach excursion and it was worth every penny. Open bar, beach chairs n umbrella, paddle board, snorkeling, beautiful sandy beach and fabulous lunch!! Only downside is that it is a little far from the port but would definitely do it again.

Really dragged on when they called the decks. We were told we could leave even though we had not been called.

We loved the Conquest in March. Didnt care for the shows but every thing else was great. Food in MDR was absolutely delicious. Our ports were fantastic. Cabin spacious enough for 2. Air and plumbing worked great. Ship older but very well maintained and beautiful decor. Make sure to visit Deck 5, the Sunflower Atrium. Beautiful
