Review summary

Best vacation ever! Would highly recommend this cruise to others. And can not wait for our next cruise

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Had an assigned time frame to report within, there was NO long lines, no waiting, check-in and credential checks went quickly. Once on the ship we had about an hour before setting sail to eat and find our cabin.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Always food available, the wait staff was amazing and very attentive. Noticed rather quickly that my 15 year old daughter was a vegetarian and a picky eater at that. They went out of their way to have choices available for her at dining room times. The food manager at the buffets also has the deli staff prepare her a veggie burger and other options on request.

Sky Bar Sports Bar

5 out of 5

Larry our bartender was amazing!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Carnival offers so much to do on the ship that if you’re bored at all it’s because you weren’t willing to do new things. From pools, water slides, putt-putt golf, volleyball and other sports to shows, games, dancing, trivia and even a week long who did it, murder mystery.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Some amazing musicians, especially the string trio and the steel drum player. The “fun squad” was energetic and entertaining. Shows were average, not Vegas style but good

Children's Programs

My teenage daughters were not interested in participating in activities offered for their age group. Not that the activities weren’t good they just weren’t interested

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The wait staff and all ship personnel were all absolutely amazing! They work hard and non-stop to keep everyone happy.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
All areas of the ship were clean and well maintained. The ship was fairly confusing at first until we learned which floors didn’t go all the way through and then because I’m directionally challenged I never did master forward and aft of the ship. I was always heading the wrong way.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin is a bit small but worked for the 4 of us. We did have them split the king bed into two twins, it just made it easier for the two kids to climb up and down for the bunks.

Ship tip

Try and experience everything! Do things you wouldn’t normally do, and rely on the staff they know best.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

3 out of 5
It’s Miami. Not much more to say. Did not do an excursion but spent two days in Miami Springs and other areas before the cruise.

Grand Turk Island

4 out of 5
No excursion. Grand Turk was beautiful, the ocean water was amazing and so clear blue. Was able to swim and play in the water without large waves knocking you over. While we did take time to use the pool at Margaritaville, I didn’t care for the commercial/touristy feel of it and the staff there constantly pushing for you to buy food and or drinks from them.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

5 out of 5
Absolutely loved this port. Easy to find your way around town, loved Umbrella Street and Old San Juan fort as well as the wild iguanas all around

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

4 out of 5
Another great port, with the exception of all the shopping of diamonds and jewelry they push. Expensive to Taxi to the other side of the island to Magen’s Bay put was totally worth it. Best beach of all was here.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

5 out of 5
We did the Monkey Land excursion which was fabulous. Julio was an amazing tour guide Lynn, Cristian and Mason did an awesome job with the Monkeys and getting them to interact with us. Such a fun time. Amber Cove is once again very commercialized. We did do some shopping there but did not use the pools or slides.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Smooth process, well executed with the exception of customs holding everyone up due to them not having enough staff to process all of us. Not Carnivals fault by any means it can happen at any port when dealing with customs.

Its a great ship, I appreciate that they still have an adults only pool to cool off!

We were on the Conquest in March. Loved it and would definitely go on again. Go to my profile and see pictures. Food in MDR was absolutely delicious. Decor really nice all throughout the ship. Check out deck 5, the Sunflower Atrium. Look in the bar there. Any questions?
