Review summary

This was our first and last cruise. The way we were treated by Carnival after the room leak was unacceptable. We had to resort to social media before they took any action. It appeared that the ships crew has no say. They said they needed to call Miami and it took almost three days for them to acknowledge that we had a major problem. The one room was leaking onto both beds, the desk and running down the walls.

Embarkation

Long walk

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food was plentiful and even catered to special diet needs, ig: Dairy and soy allergies

Monet Restaurant

5 out of 5

Our waiter, Reubon, was exceptional. He went out of his way to make sure my daughters food allergies were addressed

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
One of our staterooms had a major leak that did not get fixed and was forced to move into my room causing cramped conditions

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The cabin steward was exceptional he was definitely going above and beyond after the problems with our other room

Ship tip

Don't do it! We found out later after our problem that there was several other rooms that had leaks that needed repairs

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

2 out of 5
Very busy area, do not like crowds

Grand Turk Island

2 out of 5
No excursion, and it was like a trip to an outlet mall

San Juan, Puerto Rico

2 out of 5
No excursion, did enjoy the historical sights. Again with the outlet mall atmosphere

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

3 out of 5
Enjoyed snorkeling and swimming excursion. But way too crowded and felt rushed. Could have definitely been extended we had the time before having to return to the ship

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

1 out of 5
Why bother getting off the ship. Same outlet stores as the previous ports. Why do an excursion that you are rushed through

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
Long and hot. It was hurry up and wait

Cruising is not for you. It's not the cruise line it's everything. The ports, the people, the scenery, all of it. Nothing pleasant to say at all!!

Cruising is definitely not for you. It seems like you were unhappy with everything, so I’m not sure traveling anywhere or in any form is for you. Maybe just staying at home where there are no crowds or other people around would be your best option. I am interested in finding out what outlet mall you go to. I have never been to an outlet mall that I had all the history and architecture of old San Juan or the great beaches, snorkeling and diving of Grand Turk. It must be incredible.

Definatley not a cruiser. Bitched about every single port, store crowds EVERYTHING.

Ever had an issue before, I don’t deny you did though, sorry about your room, but the ports have more to offer than malls. Better luck with ur next vacation.

Cruising is not for you, 3000 or so people getting on and off the ship, eating, and going to activities at the same time. What did you expect, yep crowded areas. Don't go to the Disney resorts, football games or Mardi grau they are lots more busy. As for your room situation that should have had immediate attention by the Cruise line, and compensation should be made. If you ever go again, take excursions skip the shopping area.
