Review summary

For a first time cruiser, I enjoyed the entire experience and would definitely consider cruising in the future.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Long wait to be called with a limited seating area and choatic line-up. Carnival should provide additional seating, have a digital sign of boarding numbers and a more controlled line for entering the ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Overall the food and drink options were above my expectations and the wait and supporting staff was incredibly diligent. A bit disappointed with the selection in the main dining room - need more variety on a day to day basis. Also, the sports bar is a great idea but to enhance the experience have a more diverse menu with quicker service and include more sports channel especially the NHL.com for the hockey playoffs. Finally, a Cigar Bar attached to the Sports Bar would be awesome.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
There could have been some additional teenage kids outdoor activities and contests. Also, on our next cruise we will look for a ship with a larger pool to alleviate the crowding and allow us as a family to all use the pool together.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Fantastic entertainment all around - comedy club for both the kids and adults outdoor movies, musical productions, sing along bar and main band - Whiskey Business and the accompanying strings and brass were terrific.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Extremely diligent, polite, helpful - very well trained.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
For our 1st cruise, I felt the ship was easy to understand and navigate and very clean - I was impressed how quickly the leftover food and drinks were picked up and disposed of. Never encounter a mess or unpleasant smell.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We were pleasantly surprised on how comfortable and well laid out the cabin was for 4 of us.

Ship tip

To totally enjoy the cruise take advantage of the great entertainment throughout the day & night

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

4 out of 5
we just embarked and deembarked here but did enjoy 2 extra days in the area

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

3 out of 5
We viewed the planes and snorkeled - no fish to view to speak off - town seemed very touristy

Basseterre, St. Kitts

4 out of 5
Excurison to a hotel on the beach for the day which included wave runner and snorkeling - very nice views on our ride to and from the hotel

San Juan, Puerto Rico

4 out of 5
Excurison was a quick sail boat ride - Port is busy and exteremly eared for tourism

Grand Turk Island

5 out of 5
Best excurison included power snorkeling, swimming with stingrays, conch exhibit and a nice boat ride to the beach

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
was not chaotic - we relaxed waiting to be called and ate breakfast and got some last minute sun - did not feel rushed and getting through customs was not an issue

You may want to check out photos of cruise ships. Most have small pools and sea days and afternoons are packed. Port-intensive cruises are great as we swim and snorkel on so many different beaches, and some private ports and islands have huge pools.
