Review summary

There are 4 ports we went to on this 6 day cruise. For us, it felt like we were rushed a bit and on the run a lot. I think we're going to lean more towards 3 ports on a 6 day cruise with 2 full days at sea. One thing that I would like to note is we noticed the Fun Times didn't always match up with the Carnival Hub App. Also, sometimes the Fun Times said one thing and it didn't happen. For example, we were supposed to have the T-Shirt special on one day at a certain time and it ended up not happening until the next day. This isn't a big deal unless you have planned your day :) Also, you will see a picture of the Martini tasting at the Alchemy bar. At first the bartender told me they weren't doing it at the Alchemy bar and I would need to go to the 3rd floor. I go to 3rd floor bar and they say go to Alchemy Bar. I ended up grabbing a Fun Times and showing the Bartender at the Alchemy bar that the event was happening at the Alchemy bar. They ended up taking care of me which is the main thing. I needed the exercise anyway :)

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

I think Carnival does a great job with what they have to offer. I really like the side restaurants that don't cost extra money such as Guy's Burgers, the Taco bar, BBQ place, and MDR.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
It's an older ship but it was clean where it mattered to me. The windows looking out from inside the ship are kind of dirty compared to newer ships.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin is perfect for 2 of us. Love the balcony and the ability to just sit there and relax.

Ship tip

The BBQ place is kind of hidden. You have to go on Lido deck and go towards the aft. When you are by the adult pool area, turn around, go through first set of doors and then up the stairs. The BBQ is actually pretty good!

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

Nassau, Bahamas

I give this three stars because when the CD tells you to be careful because of crime at the port, it makes you really take notice.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

4 out of 5
They have done a lot to this port in the last few years. We were here before and the overall snorkeling experience was much better.

Grand Turk Island

5 out of 5
Loved going to Margaritaville and just enjoying the pool and atmosphere. It can be pricey but I thought it was worth it considering we didn't do an excursion here.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

3 out of 5
This is a Carnival owned port I guess is the best way to put it. We bought some souvenirs here. There weren't many excursions that excited us so we went back to the ship a little early.

Disembarkation

Very smooth and efficient.

Is you are in Grand Turk , or Amber Cay they both have huge pools , with food and drinks. So you can just sit and relax . Both have huge shop.s right there also .

You can go up the staircase , in the buffet area and you will be in the BBQ eatery . You don't need to go outside and up .

It's very easy to overdo it on a port intensive Cruise
