Review summary

I would like to add the fundraising for St. Judes Childrens hospital that was done on the trip touched my wife and I. We have twin girls (now six, and on the trip with us) were born 4 months early at 1lb 3 oz and 1 lbs 7 oz. Shortly after coming home, my wife started a non-profit called the potato head project to help families in the NICU track the growth progress of their little ones. Providing an avenue of hope during a difficult time. Together we also wrote and published My Preemie Baby Book to help families document their journey. We thank you for your effort providing support in this arena. It is great to carnival stand behind such a great cause. Thank You!

Very well organized.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Aran from pirate pizza helped me just about everytime I stopped by. He was very friendly and curtious to me and all the guests helping them in a timely manner. I enjoyed seeing him when I turnedme lunch. Very good pizza too! We also had a wonderful experience at the formal dining with the 3 that took care of our family of 18. They too were top notch with their friendly level of service. We all appreciated the dancing songs from the staff. Quite the experience topping off the great food and service. Wife and I also got the drink pkg. All the bartenders and coffee people were awesome with quick service. The crew really showed a very high level of customer service focus and it is a testament to carnival with the longevity of some of your employees.

Onboard Activities

Fitness ctr was used. The 80s show was great. It was funny to see the performers doing other jobs around the ship. Talented bunch of individuals.

Children's Programs

We had 8 kids with us. Of course, it was great to have someone else keep them entertained while the parents enjoyed some free time. Very kind staff and great process so we didn't end up with missing kids. I t was also nice to have other family members be allowed to drop and get kids.

The room was bigger than we expected and those bunks worked great for the girls.

I've been to 60 countries. Just another island to me. No excursions

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

5 out of 5
I found it funny it was a private island just set up for the ships. I did mention to our family that all the stops were so commercial in nature focusing on the trinket tourist. Believe me, I get it... The Bahamas was the best because it was somewhat in town with the locals. I have been to san Juan, PR. Many times ad it would have been nice to go to a place like that in the sense you could roam the city and get some local food and drink.

Grand Turk Island

All the kids loved the beach. It was our best stop by a long shot.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

Too commercial for my liking. This was a family trip for the family so adventure was not the focus. It was more about the kids and they loved going on the big boat.

Thank you for keeping the buffet and other things opened so we could get fed before debating. The process was very smooth. Great job carnival! You impresses me. I wouldn't hesitate to do another cruise.

Platinum and we "Groove for St Judes" every trip now. We missed a few on our first trips as the events were not well publicized. (Take note CCL - Advertise the events every day!!) My niece "The Doctor" is completing her internship there and has applied to be on permanent staff. It is so wonderful to see a hospital truly focused on children! Please donate on every cruise, even if it's only $5 or $10. Parents are never charged there for their children's care if insurance will not cover it. Thank you, Carnival, for supporting this excellent cause.
