Review summary
I was very surprised at the lack of cleanliness and the age of Ship. I’m glad I brought my own cleaning products because the Balcony Deck was filthy, Deck windows and Stateroom windows were so dirty you couldn’t see out of them. The carpet was stained; the deck chairs were dirty. The TV is small (22 inches) and mounted on a ledge that sticks out so far from the entertainment area that you hit your head just walking by. A dark gritty substance was over the walls covering the deck, probably from the soot and smoke from the exhaust tails. The food was mediocre served in small portions in the main Dinning Room. The Captain never sounded the horn on the ship to warn passengers the ship was about to leave the port. I saw many people almost get left. In addition to all of the above, on the last day of Cruise before disembarking, armed Security guards came bamming on the door of the stateroom next to ours (7440) screaming to the passengers in that stateroom they had to be dressed so they could be escorted off the ship by 7am. This scared the heck out of me & my husband at that time of morning. Lastly, some of the Guest Services Staff were very rude. If it were not for the people I was traveling with; this would have been an extremely disappointing experience. We made the best out of the situation. What is so upsetting to me is I’m scheduled to go on another 14 day Carnival Cruise on December 1-14, from California to Hawaii and I want to cancel this Cruise because of my experience on this Cruise and I was told if I cancel; I will loose all of my money and my 9700 Marriott Rewards Points. This isn’t fair. I will probably avoid Cruising on Carnival Cruise Line in the future and just pay the money to Cruise on a better quality and better maintained Cruise Ship. I booked both of these Cruises on Carnival Cruise Line through . I will remember this when I consider making travel plans for the future...Embarkation
