Review summary

We had a very nice time. We got away from Michigan during a zero temperature week. We wouldn’t do another cruise for a time because we love to plan and travel on our own but we enjoyed our winter vacation with you.

Embarkation

We just waited for a short time.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Our first night in the dining room seemed to be the best. We ate at Guys Burgers twice. It was delicious.

Guy's Burger Joint

Delicious burgers

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

We were happy there seemed to be sufficient treadmills. We went fairly early every day.

Toulouse-Lautrec Main Lounge

Love and Marriage was hilarious. Lip Sync was very fun and the kids portion was great too. We also liked Hasbro Game Night.

Children's Programs

We didn’t have kids with us.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Every staff member was very very friendly. Our cabin steward Casy answered all our questions and our room looked very nice every evening. When we passed staff in the halls everyone was pleasant.

Ship Quality

Everything was clean. I am always surprised when passengers don’t clean up a bit after themselves. The staff seem so patient and willing to take care of everything.

Cabin / Stateroom

There were just two of us so we had plenty of room. Having the balcony was well worth the extra fee. It was nice to look out in the morning and evening. We also prefer fresh air to air conditioning so sleeping with the balcony door ajar was wonderful. Who doesn’t love the sound of waves?! We did sit on the balcony one evening for just a bit. We were just too busy! My only small complaint would be that our bed was two twins pushed together instead of a king mattress. One mattress is more comfortable.

Ship tip

Don’t be shy about going to the activities. I never would have thought trivia would be so much fun, but we had a blast at the Motown and 70s trivia. Chloe made so much of the cruise wonderful. Her energy, and engaging personality is a gift. We also enjoyed some of the other shorter trivia times, I.e. sports tv/movie. We also thought Tiny Tim was very fun. I think he may be a cruise director himself one day. He is on his way.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida Did not visit port

Just got on the ship here.

Nassau, Bahamas

This comment is for the tour Top Ten of the Bahamas. We were so disappointed. We drove past too much. We got out at the Atlantis but one of the side towers. We got out at the Queens steps but got some history from a local, not the guide. The guide even told us we were driving to waste time so we could go to a restaurant, (a kickback?) and did not get to visit the straw markets but drove past. They were hopping with activity and we would have loved visiting. This was supposed to be part of the tour.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

Again this is about the Bike and Hike tour. It was so short. Barely worth the time and a guide who clearly was not interested in her job and talked in such a monotone drone voice. Don’t bother.

Grand Turk Island

We loved the Segway tour. In addition to being fun, our guide Brittney and her partner ( I feel horrible I can’t remember his name) were enthusiastic and clearly enjoyed sharing their island and culture.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

We enjoyed walking around the shops. We wish we knew about the pool area. We would have brought our bathing suits and spent some time there. We think it would be nice if there was information shared about what you can do on your own at each port.

Disembarkation

Incredibly fast. We couldn’t believe it. We got up at 6:30, left the ship, went thru customs, took a taxi to the Marriott and got to the front desk by 8:50. Crazy. We had called ahead for an early check in if possible and believe it or not, there was a room ready for us. It could not have been smoother.

Most of the beds are twin, and push them together and Walla! A King. We do the same at home and love it.

I would feel way to guilty if I would leave glass of garbage plus I try and show my daughter the right thing
