This was by far the most relaxing vaction I have ever had. I will defnintely consider this ship and this iteniary in the future.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
I arrived a few minutes before my scheduled embarkation time and only had to wait about 30 minutes until my zone number was called. It was a very smooth process.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The main dining room was excellent for breakfast as well as dinner. The steak house was superb and will definitely be on my radar for future cruises. The burgers at Guy's were juicy and delicious and the street tacos at Blue Iguana were top notch.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
There seemed to be a lot to do for every age range and no activity was overly crowded.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Shows in the theater were top notch. They rivaled shows you would see in Las Vegas.
Children's Programs
I don't have any children
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
My cabin steward was awesome, I never had to ask for anything. The waiters in the dining room were amazing as well and after the first night, basically remebered my beverage choices. The kitchen staff however, was very slow on several nights and dinner service took well over an hour.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
This ship was art themed and very beautiful. There were murals everywhere and the there were cleaning staff all over making sure things were dusted daily and never saw glasses or plates laying around.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
This was the largest cabin I have ever stayed in. There would have been plenty of room for 3 people and all of their belongings to fit comfortably. The balcony was small and I didn't use it much, so I will probably not book a balcony cabin in the future.
This was my 2nd time in Amber Cove and I choose not to do an excursion. There is a huge pool with water slides and all sorts of activities to do for free. There is food and beverages available for purchase. The shopping in this port was nothign like the other ports I have been to. I believe only one major store was there and the rest were smaller local products.
Worst port I have ever been to. This port is very dangerous, there is nothing to do when you get off the ship, unless you want to pay for a tour (which I did.) There were armed guards at every intersection for about a mile in each direction going away from the port. I will never get off the ship again if it stops in this port.
This was by far the most beautiful place I have ever been to. It is safe to walk around outside the port area if you choose to go shopping. The island is small and you can see a lot in a short period of time. I took a bus tour of the island and learned a lot about Aruba. I am ready to move there.
The debarkation process took a lot longer than it has on any other cruise I have ever been on. There was a lack of customs officers working, which caused a back up getting off the ship. Once I was off the ship, it took close to an hours to get to the customs agent. There were over 2800 people on the ship and only 3 customs agents at the cruise terminal. Took way longer than it should have and the terminal was hot and uncomfortable. It was like "well we have your money, you have had your vacation, and now we don't care about you." Worst disembarkation process I have ever experienced.
