Horrible 1st time experience. The ship was old and antiquated. We paid for a WiFi package that didn't work, everything is an additional charge. Even with the drink package there were several charges on my account for drinks. I probably will never go on another cruise again and if I do it most definitely will not be with Carnival. My Fiance I traveled with has been on several cruises before and said that this was the worst one she has ever been on and would recommend Norwegian over Carnival.

Even longer than disembarkation. It took several hours for our bags to get to the rooms and we weren't allowed into our rooms for several hours after we got on.

Pools were warm and we were baking in the sun so it wasn't even refreshing to go in. Pool decks were so hot you couldn't walk on them without burning your feet.

Everyone was generally nice, we had to go to guest services because we left our belongings on the pool chairs, while in the pool, and several of our items were stolen from there including a very expensive pare of sunglasses and we were advised that they couldn't do anything for us and that even though there is security cameras on the ship and security personnel that they could not help us find who took our belongings. Also, we purchased a WiFi package that did not work and we were advised it was because of the satellites but don't offer a service that doesn't work. Even the ship employees complained about it saying that it never works.

Cleaning crew organized the room quickly but there were people smoking cigarettes and other substances which were coming though our vents. Could hear other people yelling in their rooms and the rooms were very tight.

The Conquest seemed like an old and antiquated ship. I would recommend a newer ship on a different cruise line.
Locals were rude and trying to sell you drugs and was a dirty town. We did the snorkeling excursion which was fun. Wanted to visit a local beach but it was far from the ship and it was pouring rain so that didn't happen.
Beautiful beach. The ship had waiters walking around that were serving drinks outside of the drink package so you had to pay for that additionally even though they were working for the cruise line.

We thought the food was pretty bad on the buffet. Temperatures were off. Hot stuff was cold. Salads had frozen veggies in them. We have sailed Carnival Triumph before and loved it. Conquest was disappointing. Our room was by a maintenance closet and it sprung a leak and our carpet outside and inside our stateroom was soaked. Wasn't the greatest trip.
If you ordered more than one drink at a time you would be charged regular price for the extra drinks. 14 Carnival cruises and never had a problem with the drink package and any problems experienced with anything else was quickly resolved by staff.
If the wifi did not work a visit to the front desk would have resolved your issue by either making it work properly or refunding your cost. Same goes for drink charges that would be "covered" with your Cheers or Bottomless Bubbles purchase.
With thousands of people on a ship things go wrong. The measure I have on a company is how they resolve the issue. Did you ask Carnival (give them a chance) to resolve your issues?
Sorry you had such a bad experience. Have been on several Carnival cruises, including the Conquest, and have had the most awesome experiences ever. Have been on other cruise lines as well, though I have to admit never Norwegian, and would highly recommended Carnival
