Review summary

This was my first cruise, so I definitely feel like I learned a few things. I would do another cruise if it was for adults only. Everything goes very fast and there isn't time to do much in the ports, especially if you leave in the early afternoon.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Lines are LONG! I definitely recommend the Faster to the Fun pass. It saved us a lot of time. We hardly waited in line at all.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food was great. I felt a little misled after dining in the main dining room. I didn't realize there would be an additional gratuity charge of over $30 per person added to my account each time we chose to eat here. They make you think everything is included, but it isn't.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The pools are tiny. Shows were great. Everyone was very talented. There was always something to do.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Excellent!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room steward was wonderful. He answered all our questions, and our room was always well-stocked with necessities and spotless.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was definitely dated but clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The cabin was small but it fit our needs. It's not like you spend that much time in there anyway.

Ship tip

Get the Faster to the Fun pass to avoid lines during embarkation and tendering.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida Did not visit port

Grand Turk Island

5 out of 5
Easily the most beautiful place I've ever visited. We loved the people and the cleanliness of the beaches. We did a snorkeling excursions through a locoal company called Papa J's. We had a small group and it lasted a while. Worth the money.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

5 out of 5
By far our favorite day! Definitely get off the ship as fast as you can so that you get a clamshell umbrella. The beach and water is perfect. The food provided by the cruise line is wonderful too. We enjoyed a completely relaxing g beach day.

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
Not our favorite. We wish we woukdve done a private beach excursion. Instead we went to a public beach where we were asked every five minutes if we wanted jewelry, our hair braided, or a banana boat ride. If you are not at a resort or a private beach, the Bahamas is dirty and unsafe.

Disembarkation

The lines are sooo long. Save yourself major time by downloading the passport app.

I think you need to book the queen Mary ... cruising is for family's we have adults now but we have had 16 cruises and the kids have not bothered us at all just chill have another drink and move to another area away from the pools if you do not like the noise...

Summer and spring break worst times to cruise. 😏

Yeah some people let them run all over, and stuff but I don't mind unless they are real unruly

Dixie, my observations is that there were just as many or even more kids on Royal Caribbean. I think a lot of people find it more family-friendly, but those crumb-snatchers are running all over the place

if you don't like kids try RC or nc

The time of year makes a huge difference on the people who are on the ship. And yes time flies when you're having fun!!!

Hoodier22, one of many reasons we only cruise November through February (with rare exception) is that there are very few kids onboard at that time. Look into the months when school is in session; rates are super cheap compared to summer, the weather in the port countries is spectacular, and fewer kids.
