Review summary

I have some concerns while aboard our cruise. The room was not cleaned properly when we arrived to the room. We did not have everything that was supposed to be in the room (I have cruised with Carnival multiple times so I knew what to expect). We had to call for bathrobes, beach towels, and to have the bathroom cleaned. It was visibly dirty in the shower. Multiple times, we woke up to a toilet with no water. We had to call multiple times for someone to come fix it. The beds (king sized, sofa-bed, and overhead bed) were already turned down for the night upon us boarding the ship. The beds were never made with a comforter overlay the entire cruise. I pre-ordered shirts for the children and had them delivered to the room. The shirts that arrived were the wrong size. When I called about the correct sizes, the only response I received was to return it to the store on the ship and if they do not have what I need, to get my money back. Furthermore, we ate dinner in the formal dining room once the entire cruise, which was the captain's formal night. My husband ordered Salmon, which came to the table completely raw in the middle. The head chef came out to apologize, stating that they were rushing and offered to make a new one. We decided not to and ate pizza on the lido deck. When we reached Half Moon Cay (days were switched upon boarding the ship, which wasn't a bad thing as it spaced out the 3 days of destinations), there was a major delay in getting everyone off of the ship onto the taxi boat to the island. We did not start the debarking process until after 10am, which became an issue because we had to be back on the ship by 3pm. Needless to say, we did not get off of the ship until after 12noon and had to rush with everything. I had plans for some water sports with the family but was not able to do any of it because it was already booked/taken and we did not have enough time. It was definitely a disappointment, especially because the island was absolutely beautiful, the best I have seen. Finally, the day of debarkation, there was another mess/confusion. We were told to wait until our deck number was called to leave the ship. Everyone was mixed together, some groups were allowed to leave before others despite their decks not being called because "they were waiting for a while in the same spot". This came from staff members when asked why they were allowed to leave before others in the same area. It was very disappointing, especially when we arrived at the port late (once again). We had to leave our rooms early despite that fact, which lead to crowds of people in hallways for hours. We did not leave the ship until close to 11am. I have always been very pleased with Carnival, as it offers a pleather of options to all groups of people, no matter age, gender, etc. I was disappointed, to an extent this time as my expectations were high. This was the first time that we all traveled together as a group this large. Overall, I will always remain loyal to Carnival and continue to travel within the company, but there were things that need to be addressed.

Room was not properly cleaned upon arriving to the room. Key items were missing from the room (robe, beach towels). We had to request for the bathroom to be cleaned. It was visible that the shower was dirty. Multiple times, we woke up to a toilet with no water. We had to call multiple times for someone to come fix it.

Ship tip

Be mindful when scheduling tours ahead of time. At Half Moon Cay, due to arriving late and taking 2 hours to leave the ship, we did not have enough time for much of anything, spent 1 hour on the beach, ate lunch and had to get back in a long line to get back on the ship.
