Review summary

By far the worst Carnival cruise we have ever taken.  The Conquest was run down and needs alot of overhaul.  Service was mediocre and food was not that good,  The ship had run out of alot of goods by the 2nd day of the cruise. Our waiter in the main dining room had the personality of a turd. Not carnivals fault, but the wather was aweful, rained almost everyday and was cold,  Love Carnival, this was our 5th on Carnival and 9th overall, but the worst by far

gybearden    8 years ago

Going on 3/19/16 for 8 days on Conquest. I hope we don't come down with scurvy for lack of fruit.

raquel1221    8 years ago

And I don't remember it raining every day. Guess you can't please everyone!

raquel1221    8 years ago

I sailed on this cruise (1-17) and had a great time! Maybe you need to stick to the new ships so you have less to complain about!

happytraveler69    8 years ago

yeah! I can see how the lack of bananas could ruin a cruise! no cream pies or daiquiris. that would totally blow! be on the look out for missing tiles! that one bald spot in the corner by the wall would just ruin it for me!! I'll never ever go on a cruise ship again! terrible how they don't maintain them!

slaterterri    8 years ago

looking forward to being on the Conquest in 51 days for the 3rd this will be our tenth cruise. I really like the ship myself. I understand about the weather I'm not much on cold wet days myself but it's that time of the year. We cruise the week of Thanksgiving and it can be the same way. Now I pack for those days too just in case. As far as the ship I like some ships more then others I just don't let things upset my whole cruise when I run in to something. I brush it off and go on if not it can mess your whole trip up.

Better start winding yourself up. The only place we saw strwwberries was on the dinner fruit plate. Oh, and yhe chocolate covered ones at the location on the Promanade deck.

tamviecelli    8 years ago

not worried about bananas but if they run out of strawberries I will be furious! ;)

firefighter4u    8 years ago

Going on the conquest in 18 days, I guess I'll bring an extra suit case and pack it with bananas, tile and some grout!

Sandy1042    8 years ago

Yep those bananas you need to be on the lookout for them

randy3452    8 years ago

Ahhhhh....the bananas, the pesky little yellow fellas that disappeared from the Conquest.

Sandy1042    8 years ago

I just hope everyone has a wonderful trip and good weather. Grab the bananas if you see them ! Wish we were going on another one . 🕶🍻

Going on oasis next October Can't wait

mfishers    8 years ago

Not nearly as big or "spectacular" as The Oasis, but wonderful in its own way.

Can't wait 41 days

We were on The Conquest 10/31/2015 . Loved it! Found the ship to be in great shape and beautifully appointed. She's only 14 years old, which isn't really very old, and has been redone. Not every ship can be brand new. No problems with food, service or entertainment. 5th Carnival cruise and already booked on The Pride for November.

scottkris04    8 years ago

I am glad they found the bananas cause I will be on the lookout for them now in 10 days-and the tiles too. This is getting good already drama on the high seas!

wshook2010    8 years ago

This just in Carnival has announced that they located a stash of bananas located in captains quarters....guess that answers the case of the banana thief of 2016...

cmcdanielnbnc    8 years ago

I'm booking my cruise tomorrow on this ship, however I will not pack my banana slicer when we go. Seems pointless .

rogerellenborland    8 years ago

ssdd. you just can't please everyone.

randy3452    8 years ago

Wow! Was that before or after the abduction incident involving a cluster of over ripe bananas and a whining cruiser? It was a nasty mess, but resolved when the bananas were awarded a cream pie.

jjotanijo    8 years ago

Those tiles were just fine until the banana incident of 2014 A couple were on the way to guest services to raise a fuss about the size of their lobster tail when they hit a rogue banana peel. The rest is history

randy3452    8 years ago

Ha! They replaced several in the area of the first buffet area near the steps leading to the steakhouse during the January 9th cruise. Still a few to go.

sbeach3    8 years ago

There's those damn tiles again, popping up in another thread. I am looking forward to seeing them in March so I can borrow a tube of glue from maintenance, fix them, and get back to the important things like eating, drinking and blowing $ on the slots....

jjotanijo    8 years ago

Trying to move past it

randy3452    8 years ago

Though it's a tramatic event of sorts, with proper counseling you should experience another fantastic cruise.

jjotanijo    8 years ago

I'm looking forward to our March cruise on Conquest...... But now with the broken tile thing and the obvious shortage of bananas I'm just not sure. Lol

randy3452    8 years ago

Sailed on the same cruise and felt the same way. We we pleased and surprised it was every bit as good as our 15 previous Carnival Cruises.

joecool14    8 years ago

jjotanijo, we just sailed on the 9th of january and other than a few broken tiles in the dining hall we gelt the conquest looked great for her age. Delightful 3rd cruise. Happy sailing

randy3452    8 years ago

That would hit the spot. She could do double duty as part of the entertainment.

jjotanijo    8 years ago

I think as part of carnivals 2.0 they need that Chikita girl with the fruit bowl on her head

randy3452    8 years ago

Speaking of ....fruits. they are everywhere. lol

jjotanijo    8 years ago

B A N A N A Banana a day helps keep the doctor away ....... Never mind that's grapes

Sandy1042    8 years ago

We enjoyed ourselves but when you usually have a banana everyday and by the second day they are out they could have picked some up at the different ports . That is all I am saying .

randy3452    8 years ago

Wow! My thought exactly. I'm pretty certain we didn't screen Carnival's site for an 8 day cruise specifically for bananas. Why do people whine about every little thing, when they can look toward the bright side and enjoy themselves?

jjotanijo    8 years ago

When we cruise bananas are not our normal priority although I can see how lack of them could ruin the day. Certain drinks require them. Really bananas ?

Sandy1042    8 years ago

When we sailed by the second day they were out of bananas.

randy3452    8 years ago

That's the attitude jj... you'll have a great time!

jjotanijo    8 years ago

Sailing soon. Please take care of those issues ASAP and have a cold bev waiting for me on my arrival. Thx

randy3452    8 years ago

We have no idea what week you went on Carnival Conquest, but must disagree wholeheartedly. We sailed January 9th, and cannot substantiate your findings. Sure, the ship is older and will require brushing up. Services, staff, and provisions were second to none. This was our 16th Carnival Cruise and was every bit as great as all the others.

aarmstrong    8 years ago

Do you cruise for the decor of the ship? Was it clean? Ok then.
