Review summary

To someone considered:

Several weeks ago, we compared some websites, finally were very happy to choose our cruise with . But, unfortunately it seemed to be not a happy  experience, we feel  very sad,  we have a motion of  depression .

When  we booked the cruise, you( web) said:

EXCLUSIVE: up to $500 Drink & Spa Credit!

Offer provided by Cruises

But in fact we got nothing, nothing!!!!!!!  We have been cheated. We are foreigner, the cruise fee for us  is very expensive. We thank over for very long time to book it. We really want to plan to have good memory. Actually, september 1st is my birthday, I and my wife just felt sad.

For the 5 nights onbroad, we did not have mood to enjoy anything. There are deep scars on our heard.

We try to talk to staff onboard about how to get the “Drink & Spa Credit”, but nobody know about it.   It seemed to that nobody be responsible for that.

They may think: we are crazy or we misunderstand something.

In conclusion,  promised to give us Bonus, then we got nothing, not enjoyed it. It was very sad experience. I think it is the last time we use “” to book something. And we want to share our bad experience with all my friends through “facebook” ect.

Anyway, thank you for giving a chance to give voice to that thing.

Best wishes!

Lol 😁 Crusin Tim. I'll concede to being redic. At times. But those that are too lazy to read each review/comments will end up learning nothing... I'm just tired of seeing a certain few always jumping on reviews that are less than stellar, or that are apparently grammatically unpleasant to them. He/She clearly had a problem, never said it was carnival, & wanted to vent. I honestly give zero cares to the "☆factor" as I make decisions using ALL input... Regardless of ANY review here or elsewhere, we are going to have a great time :) This's my Hubs first time back on a ship since he served on the amazing Dwight D Eisenhower CVN69, completely different circumstances and this will be for pure pleasure... Although I do wish that I'd had prior knowledge that it was also a huge superbowl gathering during our cruise. Will it make a diff in us having a fantastic time? Nope.

With all due respect tim-d-wolfe, YOUR comment is redic!! The poster gave 1 star (poor cruise review) because of something that was NOT under the control of the cruise line. The problems the poster experienced was caused by their agent, not the cruise line! Read the replies. They all focus on the same responses. The review system on this site (amount of stars) are compiled and are shown as TOTALS in the reviews section. So, when posters give 1 star to a review because of something that failed from another entity not under the lines or ships control, this helps to cast a false total in the final tally causing the reader to think the cruise is bad. When someone is searching for a ship they are considering cruising on, they will not always take the time to read each individual review, they will just see the total stars compiled by those reviews.

Some of these comments are redic... Zhipeng clearly stated that they were foreign and not understanding too well obvs how things cruise-wise how it all works. Also that it was something very expensive for them and they feel that _____.com didn't live up to their promise, which they did NOT. After trying to get answers onboard and getting none, they were very disappointed. It was started AND ended with upset towards the website. Period... Geesh 😨

So you're blaming carnival because of your travel agent?

Mreepat    9 years ago

I booked the Vista through a PVP and didn't like his services. I shopped around and found a travel agent willing to do something for me. You can transfer your booking within 90 days to a travel agent. We did that, on the 90th day... We had already found a sale that offered $50 OBC through Carnival and had that applied to our booking. Then the agent was willing to give us $100 to move our booking to him. He got the undeclared Carnival commission and we got $100 more to our credit... and my sister moved her booking too.

travel agents get a commission fee for booking the cabins. The on board credit You get may be out of Their fee that they choose to award your cabin. It serves them well by getting your good will and your future cruise booking (s),.

*how is she able to do that

dolphindreamz    9 years ago

@benjaminchapman who do you go through and how is she assume to do that? That's great! Just because you are a loyal customer or from the beginning?

My agent booked 21 rooms for 11/14/15 every room has 75.00 room credit. she books our cruises every year since I started in 1997 and she always get each room a room credits and free gifts.

Did it say it on your carnival page! That would of been proof!

How sad that you let the mistakes of your booking agent ruin your cruise.  I hope that your next cruise goes smoother.  Carnival is not to blame.

Thank you for posting your review. It is unfortunate that it did not live up to your expectation.

Sorry your cruise was not good for you.

dolphindreamz    9 years ago

I'm very sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your cruise. You probably depended on the credit to buy beverages and etc. You should also understand that it was "up to" 500 on board credit. Depending on how much your cruise costs, it could be as little as 50.00 (I'd take that). For whatever reason you did not receive it. Not sure if you verified with the site you booked with that your credit would be available and how to see it before hand if possible. As far as the cruise line, they are most likely not at fault. I also wish that you would have enjoyed all of the "free" food and entertainment that comes with the cruise. I'm sure you missed out on alot of priceless memories worrying about the credit. I hope you try to cruise with Carnival again. Peace

well said Crusin Tim.

Your trip is what you make it. You need to take the issues to cruises.com. It's not carnivals fault. Why would you ruin your whole vacation over not getting a credit you just deal with it enjoy your vacation and take it up with cruises.com after your trip.

JusMe    9 years ago

Sorry you did not have a good cruise.   The credit issue is with your travel agent,  not the cruise line.  You need to take this up with the web site that you booked the trip with and who took your money.

Next time I would suggest to book directly with the cruise line so no unexpected issues happen.

Bilbo1369    9 years ago

This is pathetic for so many reasons.

happy2go    9 years ago

That's what I thought too

katebrad    9 years ago

And seriously, not getting an on board credit ruined your whole cruise???

happy2go    9 years ago

unfortunately no one from carnaval reads this.....

CrusinTim    9 years ago

There is NO reason to give the cruise a bad score because your Priceline agent failed to provide what they promised. You were NOT cheated by the cruise line, you were cheated by the Priceline agent.  Of course Carnival didn't know about your credit since your agent at Priceline didn't apply it to your account!!! You need to take this issue up with Priceline.
