Review summary

When asked how we liked the cruise, we could not say it enough - it was awesome. We will definitely do a Carnival Cruise again. The staff played a big part in making the trip so spectacular, from the room steward who learned our names the first day, to the cruise director who kept us as busy as we wanted to be, to our own waiter in the dining room who remembered I wanted coffee with the meal and not after.

We have never cruised, so we have nothing to compare this cruise to other than vacations, but we felt pampered. The turn down service, the roaming waiters, the offer of anniversary wishes all made our trip one we will long remember. I would suggest that you select a set dining time so that you can get to know your wait staff, and they can get to know you. We looked forward to reconnecting with our table mates each evening and talking about the events of the day. On our other vacations, we usually go to a "fancy" restaurant  for one meal. We had that experience each night of the cruise in the dining room, dining on things like lobster tail, prime rib, filet mignon, and chateaubriand to name a few of the offerings. The chocolate melting cake was to die for!!! My husband had it every evening while I tried the daily dessert specials like creme brule.

Remember to bring comfortable shoes, as the ship is BIG, and gym clothes since you need to work off all those desserts. We also brought extra hangers, since there were not many in the closet. A pop up hamper proved useful, especially since we took advantage of the self service washers and dryers. We did not have to bring any organizer for the bathroom, as there was ample shelf space. We loved the animal towels and daily planner that we found in our room each night...Kudos to you Carnival - you provided a stellar experience for these first time cruisers.

Cabin / Stateroom

We were close to the action, the Lido deck is one deck below and the Spa is one deck up, but it seemed like a quiet nook on the ship. Not very many cabins in this area makes for less traffic and noise. Would definitely choose this cabin again.

Ship tip

Take the behind the scenes tour and make sure to get a dining time.

Take a tour with Old Town Trolleys. We learned a lot and it helped us spend our time here wisely.

Super nice people. The crepe place across from the Atlantis Submarine was fantastic. So was the trip in the sub.

Be ready to say no and mean it. The sales people were very pushy here. Listen to the shopping experts on the boat and only shop from their approved list of business!
