Carnival Conquest

7 Night Western Caribbean (Galveston Roundtrip)

Sail date: April 09, 2006

Ship: Carnival Conquest

Cabin type: Inside

Traveled as: Couple

Review summary

The ship is beautiful and enormous. The shore excursions are a little pricey, but that is to expect on any cruise. While in Grand Cayman, book your Stingray City tour directly with Captain Marvin's (www.captainmarvins.com). There tours are top quality for half the cost. It is a short 2 block walk to their facility from the pier and the boat and equipment was the best we had seen in the three ports.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was awesome from the dining room to the grill on the Lido deck. There were some many choices that we did not eat at every single eatery in the 7 days we were at sail.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The shows and entertainment activities were fun and diverse. We looked forward to seeing the show each night and particpating in onboard ship activities.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
There were 500 kids on our cruise and the children's program must have done a great job becuase we rarely saw these kids.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our waiter Inyoman was awesome and our room steward Joey was the tops. We were always greeted with a smile and a warm hello.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The layout of the ship is easy to navigate. We enjoyed going down to the shops and little clubs to people watch and relax.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our room was quite large for an inside cabin. We heard nitemares about the showers in the bathrooms, but we were surprised at how large the shower and bathroom was. It was more than adequate. The bed is like sleeping on a cloud and the pillows are to die for.

Ports of call

Montego Bay, Jamaica

3 out of 5
Be careful here. Stay in the downtown strip section.
Don't Miss: Margaritaville and Jamaican Bobsled Cafe

Cozumel, Mexico

3 out of 5
Cozumel is still recovering from Hurricane Wilma. The international Pier has been completely destroyed and you must tender here as well. Streets are crowded with people and street vendors are everywhere hawking their wares and services.
Don't Miss: Passion Island

George Town, Grand Cayman

5 out of 5
Grand Cayman was by far my favorite port. The shopping is awesome with no street vendors.
Don't Miss: Captain Marvin's Stingray City tour

Pros: There was so much to do.
