THE LIST GOES ON............... by SissyDunn

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

1.  We went with two other couples and requested in advance adjoining two rooms with balconies that adjoins. ALL the other balconies on the Aft connected except ours so we went to customer service and they said they would look into moving our rooms but nothing was ever mentioned again.

2.  I lost my phone the very first night and after reporting it to customer service within an hour of leaving it, we requested that security look at cameras to see if they could tell who may have taken it (an employee or a guest).  I was told that CS would contact security and they would have to search my cabin first and we had no problem with this-after repeated attempts with CS, Security never showed up to do the search.

3.  I was told that I should call my phone provider and cut my phone off....I don't have a phone - how should I do that?  CS said to come to the desk and they would provide me with a phone and a phone number.  Went down to CS and stood in line only to be told that they did not have the number for my provider (Sprint).  I would have to look it up - AGAIN HOW - I don't have a phone....luckily a nice lady in line to speak to CS looked it up for me!

4.  Finally - the next day - I got ahold of someone at CS that helped!  Fillip...he made a stolen report for me - just in case I would need one to file an insurance claim for my lost phone.   Three trips to CS and finally someone helped - thank you Fillip!

5.  We were on the 6th floor Aft and as soon as you came off the elevator the halls smelled like sewer-4 days out of the 7 our room smelled the same.

6.  Our room #6474 on the 6th floor Aft is located above the Comedy Club, CO2 club and Piano Bar - we had a miserable seven (7) sleepless nights due to noise carrying into the early morning . We talked to CS and they explained that they would look into moving us to adjoining balconies and also where the rooms did not have a sewer odor. This never happened after making repeated complaints.

7. Steakhouse - it was our 20th anniversary 2/14/17 and I knew that the steakhouse would be full because of Valentine’s day.  I booked (or started trying to book) 3 months in advance.  I never did get a response from Carnival with our confirmation.  So I booked many more times - hoping that I would get a table.  FINALLY after the 4th try Carnival responded 2 weeks before our cruise date with confirmation.  4 times I booked - 4 times.  When we arrived at the Steakhouse we were seated at the BAR. I asked the host to please set us at one of the several empty tables and her response basically was NO!   The hostess seated us at the end of the bar located next to the waitress station, we had to listen to all the waitresses argue with each other over meal ticket, drinks tickets and etc. during our entire meal.

8.  Park Place Art Gallery.  We went to the first couple of auctions and were interested in purchasing some Scott Jacobs paintings.  We filled out a questionnaire and received a line of credit from Park Place and a $100.00 credit towards artwork. During the course of the Auction, we purchased two painting that we LOVED – (not Scott Jacobs), one being a Michael Cheval Imagine II . We went down to "do the paperwork" - and Simon with Park West told us to come back later to pick our artwork up after they boxed it.  We went to eat dinner and then went by the Gallery and was told to come back the next night.  Once we arrived in our room we had a message and was told that we could not apply the $100 to our purchase because it was a TO painting (take off)....well the coupon said nothing about where and what we could apply it to....we went back to the Gallery and after explaining this to the Art Director, he stated that Park West would make adjustments and correct the issues in which he did so. Once reaching our home and unpacked our sealed box of artwork - It was the WRONG painting, our Michael Cheval Imagine II was not even listed on the invoice in the packed Art Work box. We called Park West’s phone number and they said that we would have to call back in TWO weeks. Park West employees push their products but do not have a clue how to follow up on customer services-onboard the ship and on land. Park West employees are very unknowledgeable after the consumer purchases their Art Work.

9.  Our rooms and the Steward.....I spilled a soft drink on the second night on the table top above the fridge.  That sticky spot was there the entire trip it was never wiped up- Gratuity: Carnival’s documentation posted on the Carnival HUB and TV states there will be a $12.00 per day Gratuity charge, our bill came to $13.00 per day. CS stated that the HUB and TV was wrong-if it is wrong, why is posted given a false price? Should I report this to the US Government stating a ship with a Panama Flag docking in a US Port is over charging?

10.  One evening we could not sleep because of the noise coming from the Michael Jackson night in one of the clubs.....we went down to the food area to grab a cup of Coffee/Tea/OJ/Water at approx. 2:30 am and all the machines were being serviced….there was not one single self-serve drink machine that was in working order.  This was at 2:30am but you would think that they would leave at least ONE machine available to the guest that may be up at this time.   We did find a nice worker for South Africa that helped us out after he serviced the machine to make us a fresh pot of coffee - but not one other person asked us if we needed anything - while we were wondering around looking lost!

11.  The Lido deck was slippery.  I did fall one night while I was wearing my flip flops as well as hundreds of other guest. Seems like this deck would have some type non-slip surface since it is outside and the pool is near-signage was not posted for slippery surface.

Wow! You made my getaway great! by CarolynMarie

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The food was awesome.  I had food from the formal dining room, Lido deck buffet and speciality restaurants and the quality was outstanding in all locations.  Portion sizes were accurate and in a world of overeating I did appreciate this.

The shows were top quality.  I had the opportunity to see and "Old" and "new" crew of performers throughout the week.  Both groups gave 110% in each performance which made it great.

Our dining room service for the dinner meal was top notch in all respects.  Special thank you of Igusti Kusuma, Valentin Chakarov and Sadarat.  Their attention to detail  and taking the time to  learn our names and remember our preferences was an added touch of class.

This was my first Cruise... by debbiecad

Sail date: /
Ship: Carnival Breeze

This was my first Cruise and it was a blast. This was a very clean ship. The service was excellent and we got very attached to two young ladies in the dining area that were just so very sweet to my grandkids. My grandson loved going to the kids area and enjoyed all the activities they had for him.

Not what it once was by Texcess

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Just grinning and calling customers by name isn't sufficient to be called great service. Platinum level membership has several "perks" First on & off. Luggage in room quickly. Chocolate strawberries waiting in room. Gift with a logo in the room. Cocktail party. and a few other things representing little investment by Carnival. None of the above items were performed or delivered without prompting. A "head" waiter at dinner who described the ice cream as "sugar free" when told that is raised my sugar level by over 200 points thought it was fodder for joking for the remainder of the week. The room service was spotty at best. Refrigerators are no longer stocked; room service is the source of in-room beverages. Requests made to the room steward are generally deflected by telling the customer who to call. The cocktail party waiters were bordering on surly. The entertainment has bounced back a bit but is still generally a variety of showcases for the staff singers and dancers. Variety is sparse. The "wandering" staff on the Lido deck seems to be noticeably smaller. Almost no beverage service left. In preparation for leaving, the theater was FULL of platinum, First ti the fun, special assistance, and anyone who wandered in people. It diluted the "exclusive" nature of the experience to the level of being a peasant. Upon reaching the baggage there was about a 30 minute wait for the area to be opened. Nice coordination. Although the amenities and service were somewhat lacking, there were several delightful staff members. The young woman, Ericka from Joplin Missouri, who hosted the trivia games, was the epitome of spunk and determined motivation. The young woman from India who assisted at dinner defined friendly. The young man who prepared breakfast omelets made customers feel special and made it look easy. Issuing Sign & Sail cards in various colors denoting  various levels of privilege is meaningless if the staff don't confer appropriate attention. First time and nearly first time cruisers seem compelled to inquire what the colors mean. "Not much" is a mean spirited but accurate response.

Great Cruise on a Great ship by IDCruiser

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Our favorite part of the cruise was probably the music/dance shows. The performers were really good - saw every show but the country one. We also enjoyed the family friendly comedy shows. Our room steward was excellent. Really loved the Blue Iguana food - which it had been open more. The thing that could use some improvement was the main dining room food and the buffet offerings during non-peak times. The main dining room food just didn't seem as good as our prior cruise with carnival. Their famous melting lava cake was cooked all the way through both times I had it =( and my salmon fillet one night was not cooked through. We ended up eating in the buffet two nights rather than the main dining room & I noticed that their dinner offerings were 50% the main dining room offerings for that night. The buffet was also 95% closed at certain times during the day (couldn't even get a sandwich). One other thing that was a disappointment was that my husband & I were seated alone at an 11 person table despite being surrounded by other mostly empty tables with just a single couple seated at them. The social aspect of the main dining room is one of the things we enjoy most about cruising and was sorely missed this cruise.

Had a blast by Izzy77

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

It was very relaxing and very well thought out. I think my favorite part was the evening dinners in the Blush dining room. Our wait staff was amazing, knew our names from the first day and were very friendly while being at our beck and call. Manuel from the Philippines was a great head waiter and should be promoted at the first opportunity.

Also Marija from Macedonia was very attentive and great at her job, having three children that have all been in service careers , I think she has a great personality and is ready for more responsibility. But I have to admit that my favorite was Nyuman from Indonesia ,apart from being a great waiter, he is an extremely personable young man. The whole crew should be promoted as soon as possible.

They made us look forward to going to the dining room every night, they are a credit to the very Carnival name.

My 9th cruise on the... by flrrambo

Sail date: /
Ship: Carnival Breeze

My 9th cruise on the Breeze and 59 overall and I am a picky eater, yet I was able to find good food every night and there was great music every night on board, no matter what kind you like and just read the fun times as there is stuff going on day and night. Anybody that complains is never satisfied are does not get off their ass and just do a little research and remember the cruise ship does not have a direct line to God for weather conditions, Get bad weather at a hotel and tell me how great that is.

What an AWESOME first cruise by wattingerr

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My favorite part of the cruise was the staff.  The week started with the very talented and friendly Monica aka Moneyca"  On the first night they had the pub crawl where at each stop the taught a dance step that they would be using all during the week at different times.  Being a 51 year old with two big left feet Monica was very encouraging and patient in helping me get the steps down and reassuring me that the goal was to have fun.  It started my cruise off with a great start.  The next morning I went to the Daily Show with Leigh the cruise director.  That was very informative and fun to watch after that I stayed to play bingo and Monica my dance partner from the night before was the Bingo caller "Moneyca". They asked when you got down to only on ball needed for Bingo you stand-up.  When I stood up she remembered my name and called me by it.  Some how I and 3 other all called bingo and it was a lot of fun.  The laughs and jokes told while playing was very enjoyable and uplifting.  That afternoon the Hairy Man contest was held and was a lot of fun and something that I will never forget.   I had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know Leigh the cruise director.  He was a lot of fun and delivered a lot of energy during the different events.  There was never a shortage of activities between trivia, Bingo, Music, Shows, Dancing, Sports court.  Vinnie the manager of the Limelight lounge was great and the comedians where very entertaining.  When I went to Guest Services I met a wonderful charming lady named Vesna She was very helpful and when ever I walked by on the way to show always said hello with a warm and caring smile.  Vera our cabin steward was great and every time she saw me in the hallway would always ask if there was anything that we needed and asked if Lorrie my wife was having a good time as well.  I met so many people on the ship and feel that the 5 members of the crew that I have mentioned I will consider friends for years to come along with several other guest that I traded contact info with I will cherish keeping in contact with.   All in all I would rate the cruise higher than 5 stars if I could I am already planning my return trip.  Thank you again to Monica, Leigh, Vinnie, Will, Vesna, Vera, April, Kit Kat, and the rest of the crew for a wonderful vacation.

Amazing trip of a lifetime!!!! by terrikinney

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I really had no idea what to expect, except that I thought I would be scared to death.  Wrong!!!  My very first cruise and I went into it holding on to the sides and came off dancing lol  (or trying to but had no more energy left lol)  This was seven days of pure fun and so many different kids of fun.  Danced with a lot of ladies and people Iv never seen before all just happy to be there.  The shows, food, beer, excursions, kids activities, family activities, pools, hot tubs, shops, Very Pleasant Crew, was all just so AMAZING, I feel so blessed to have been able to go.  Thought that would be the only one but came home already looking up some very affordable more.  I would absolutely sail again on the Carnival Breeze!!!  Thank You so much for such a Good Time!!!Love

We loved our balcony stateroom,... by kyliebird

Sail date: /
Ship: Carnival Breeze

We loved our balcony stateroom, very spacious with lots of storage. Our cabin steward was excellent, and the waitstaff in the Sapphire dining room were very quick and attentive. The musicians throughout the ship were fantastic, especially Cavair who played the steel drums. Most of the food was great, Guy's Burgers was a bit of a disappointment as was the pub grub in the Red Frog Pub, but everything else we had was prepared well and tasted fantastic, the steakhouse and Italian restaurant are musts! The cruise director Leigh was very funny and didn't overwhelm us with announcements, and the overall vibe of the ship is pretty laid back. We loved our cruise, the ship, and especially the staff, they were always cheerful with smiles on their faces and always stopped to greet us. We will definitely sail on the Breeze again!
