Review summary

1.  We went with two other couples and requested in advance adjoining two rooms with balconies that adjoins. ALL the other balconies on the Aft connected except ours so we went to customer service and they said they would look into moving our rooms but nothing was ever mentioned again.

2.  I lost my phone the very first night and after reporting it to customer service within an hour of leaving it, we requested that security look at cameras to see if they could tell who may have taken it (an employee or a guest).  I was told that CS would contact security and they would have to search my cabin first and we had no problem with this-after repeated attempts with CS, Security never showed up to do the search.

3.  I was told that I should call my phone provider and cut my phone off....I don't have a phone - how should I do that?  CS said to come to the desk and they would provide me with a phone and a phone number.  Went down to CS and stood in line only to be told that they did not have the number for my provider (Sprint).  I would have to look it up - AGAIN HOW - I don't have a phone....luckily a nice lady in line to speak to CS looked it up for me!

4.  Finally - the next day - I got ahold of someone at CS that helped!  Fillip...he made a stolen report for me - just in case I would need one to file an insurance claim for my lost phone.   Three trips to CS and finally someone helped - thank you Fillip!

5.  We were on the 6th floor Aft and as soon as you came off the elevator the halls smelled like sewer-4 days out of the 7 our room smelled the same.

6.  Our room #6474 on the 6th floor Aft is located above the Comedy Club, CO2 club and Piano Bar - we had a miserable seven (7) sleepless nights due to noise carrying into the early morning . We talked to CS and they explained that they would look into moving us to adjoining balconies and also where the rooms did not have a sewer odor. This never happened after making repeated complaints.

7. Steakhouse - it was our 20th anniversary 2/14/17 and I knew that the steakhouse would be full because of Valentine’s day.  I booked (or started trying to book) 3 months in advance.  I never did get a response from Carnival with our confirmation.  So I booked many more times - hoping that I would get a table.  FINALLY after the 4th try Carnival responded 2 weeks before our cruise date with confirmation.  4 times I booked - 4 times.  When we arrived at the Steakhouse we were seated at the BAR. I asked the host to please set us at one of the several empty tables and her response basically was NO!   The hostess seated us at the end of the bar located next to the waitress station, we had to listen to all the waitresses argue with each other over meal ticket, drinks tickets and etc. during our entire meal.

8.  Park Place Art Gallery.  We went to the first couple of auctions and were interested in purchasing some Scott Jacobs paintings.  We filled out a questionnaire and received a line of credit from Park Place and a $100.00 credit towards artwork. During the course of the Auction, we purchased two painting that we LOVED – (not Scott Jacobs), one being a Michael Cheval Imagine II . We went down to "do the paperwork" - and Simon with Park West told us to come back later to pick our artwork up after they boxed it.  We went to eat dinner and then went by the Gallery and was told to come back the next night.  Once we arrived in our room we had a message and was told that we could not apply the $100 to our purchase because it was a TO painting (take off)....well the coupon said nothing about where and what we could apply it to....we went back to the Gallery and after explaining this to the Art Director, he stated that Park West would make adjustments and correct the issues in which he did so. Once reaching our home and unpacked our sealed box of artwork - It was the WRONG painting, our Michael Cheval Imagine II was not even listed on the invoice in the packed Art Work box. We called Park West’s phone number and they said that we would have to call back in TWO weeks. Park West employees push their products but do not have a clue how to follow up on customer services-onboard the ship and on land. Park West employees are very unknowledgeable after the consumer purchases their Art Work.

9.  Our rooms and the Steward.....I spilled a soft drink on the second night on the table top above the fridge.  That sticky spot was there the entire trip it was never wiped up- Gratuity: Carnival’s documentation posted on the Carnival HUB and TV states there will be a $12.00 per day Gratuity charge, our bill came to $13.00 per day. CS stated that the HUB and TV was wrong-if it is wrong, why is posted given a false price? Should I report this to the US Government stating a ship with a Panama Flag docking in a US Port is over charging?

10.  One evening we could not sleep because of the noise coming from the Michael Jackson night in one of the clubs.....we went down to the food area to grab a cup of Coffee/Tea/OJ/Water at approx. 2:30 am and all the machines were being serviced….there was not one single self-serve drink machine that was in working order.  This was at 2:30am but you would think that they would leave at least ONE machine available to the guest that may be up at this time.   We did find a nice worker for South Africa that helped us out after he serviced the machine to make us a fresh pot of coffee - but not one other person asked us if we needed anything - while we were wondering around looking lost!

11.  The Lido deck was slippery.  I did fall one night while I was wearing my flip flops as well as hundreds of other guest. Seems like this deck would have some type non-slip surface since it is outside and the pool is near-signage was not posted for slippery surface.

YES.....we had a wonderful time on the "Walmart" of cruises.  I am more of a "Nordstrom" girl....

Sooooo you had a GREAT time?

sounds to me like they tried to accommodate you, but you just aren't a happy person to begin with. 2:30 am is the only time they can clean drink machines. I'm also sure if hundreds of people fell...they'd put out a sign.

That sucks about your phone and art, but other than that, I don't think cruising is for you. Just sayin'.
