Review summary

This will have to be my last carnival cruise. The staff was rude and upset to be there most the time. It wasn’t diverse and I had surprise and repeat charges by the end of the cruise.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Random charges when we were often told drinks were included in our drink package. The staff were rude when we asked for an explication. I got charged double, 3 times for 1 drink on my cheers package.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
The pools were hogged by children. The jacuzzis were never hot, all of them.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Music was not diverse - country music played most the time.

Children's Programs

4 out of 5
A lot for kids to do

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
Unhelpful and rude to me and my friends.

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
The people in my room and myself often woke up with bug bites.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Comfortable for 4 people. We emptied our luggage out and hung everything up which helped with the comfort of the size. The Stewart’s never vacuumed or swept or wiped the bathroom down, they only made the beds, emptied trash and replaced towels.

Ship tip

This has been the least diverse cruise I’ve been on, maybe because it’s leaving from Orlando. I would not take another cruise from Orlando again.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

Very organized and easy to get through. We were warned about receiving a health screaming because corona virus, but did not receive anything but a questionnaire.

Some ships and ports draw more kids. Port Canaveral is a reasonable drive from many southern states, so families drive there with the kids and avoid airfare. I do think Carnival needs to have better supervision of the hot tubs and warn kids and parents to obey the rules or be kicked off the ship. Sounds harsh, but there are rules for a reason. Also an adult only pool would be great on every ship, with rules enforced. That said, I enjoy seeing the kids having fun, and we miss them when we take a longer cruise. Few families are on 10-20 day cruises. NOTE: If you get double or triple charges, take the bill to Customer service. If you smile and say there was a mistake, it will be handled immediately. No griping or demands and all will be well! I know the crew gets tired and grumpy, too, so be nicer than they appear to initially be, and you will get great service! Cruise on!
