Review summary

Carnival is definitely positioning itself in the marketplace as more of the 'party' cruise ship line so we will keep that in mind for future decisions about travel. We've cruised on NCL, Holland America and Princess in the past and they did't seem to be as much of a frat party environment.

Ship Quality

All the exterior windows on the ship were filthy -- especially in the spa and dining room. We had seats near the windows for dinner, but could hardly see out. Similarly, the relaxation room at the spa may as well have been interior because you couldn't really enjoy the view. I understand it's difficult to keep the windows clean with so many days at sea, but both of these areas looked to have outside access so the windows could have been cleaned on port days. Very disappointing.

Not much unless you went on an excursion. I paid for the Hop on Hop off bus and was stuck in traffic for over two hours going no where. I could have walked back to the ship quicker and it was very chaotic.

George Town, Grand Cayman

Much nicer than Jamaica so a welcome port! Plus, we had great excursions here.

Cozumel, Mexico

Great shopping at the terminal.

Sounds like you need more low key cruising...stick to the lines you mentioned as they prob are more to your taste...

I love the Breeze. We are going back on it in August

It’s a great ship and a lot of fun! Just got back in March with a party of 16 ages from 22 to 70’s and we all had a blast!

I’m on the Breeze in March 2019, and am actually excited for all the good things I’ve heard about the ship. Although I haven’t sailed Carnival since 2007, sailing only RCCL and NCL, I’m going in with an open mind, and determined to enjoy myself. I know we won’t be acting crazy, as the hubby and I drink very little—-3 drinks at the very most when on a cruise. Usually the “frat party” atmosphere is on the shorter cruises of 3-5 days. I don’t doubt you experienced it. I would suspect because it was Easter/Spring Break, there were young college students (over age 21) that chose to cruise with you. I agree that they should be washing windows when at port. RCCL and NCL were ALWAYS cleaning and washing windows.

Carnival has been referred as "The Fun Ship" for decades now!

I wouldn't say frat party. Just people who are having a good time.

Carnival's parent company also owns Princess cruises. Carnival is more of a family/party cruise and Princess is above that.
