Review summary

We enjoyed the time at sea. The biggest disappointment was not being invited to the repeat cruise party. We have been on 25 cruises and this was the first time. It cost the company very little and it hurt that we weren't invited.

We also noted the LACK of white table cloths at dinner. I believe there was only one night that they were used. Also I see you are increasing the work load of the room cleaning staff. Rooms are only cleaned once per day although there is an option for two times. I talked to the head of the hotel/room department and it was indicated 10 rooms were added to each cleaning crew and the crew size was reduced. As a result we we would have felt bad to have the cleaning people come twice a day. These are little things BUT it is what made a cruise special.

Finally the night shows are not as classy as they used to be and there are less of them.

My only hope in all of this is that you don't go the same direction as the airline industry has done. Fortunately we have had many great cruises in the past.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Breakfast at the restaurant was not smooth or relaxing. Staff seemed very stressed and service was fair. People who all ordered together would get the food at various times with a 12 minute difference. There were NO special orders. Dinner in the dining room was good and we enjoyed the various gluten free adjustments. HOWEVER it would be good to have more that 2 gluten free desserts.

Entertainment

we really loved the violin trio and caught most of the performances. The country western played the same songs over and over. The shows were of average quality.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
We did not want to make extra work for our cabin stewards who were always busy. We liked two vistits a day so if we showered before dinner the towels were picked up.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was beautiful and well laid out. There were 3 times that I noted spilled food on the decks - under chairs - including bar b cue and ice cream cones. I told staff and they were still there 2 hours later. Some floors were sticky around the steps

Cruise casual should be renamed red neck roundup

I think that tips should be part of the cruise price , so people don't have the choice to remove their tips! That's the way solve all the cheap people removing them and then not tipping at all.

Right, that's why I like to place it in their hands myself. I don't want it on my card. They say it's split between everyone but I just wanna make sure it is.

This is not about tips. And yes I liked it when people were more dressy and formal. Casual has gone to a whole new level. But why are we gouged for every little thing which I am positive does not go in the pockets of employees but straight to the greedy fat cats of airlines and cruise lines????

I am a flight attendant and I started flying for TWA. I don't know if you're old enough to remember when people use to dress up to fly, now you're lucky if you don't get a cabin full of people in their pj's. It's just that bad. So yes, on the cruise lines, they're reducingg the staff but added more rooms for them to clean. But they wanna charge your card for those tips on the dang 3 day of the cruise. I believe in tipping, but I like to personally hand my steward the tip in hand. He/she works really hard taking care of each room from the towel animals, to making sure each and ever cabin is clean. So I always bring on cash just to make sure that I can leave it in an envelope for the steward.

Yeah airlines and cruise lines both charge extra for every little thing. Both cram in tons of people and very little is free. I miss the good old days of flying and sailing. Not so profit driven.
