It was a very good cruise experience. I have to give a lot of credit to our “tour guy” ,Thomas Houser, who guided us into the package we settled on. As usual his advice on what to look for was spot on. The package had the amenities you’d like and expect and Thomas recommended we go for the Club Class, now they call it Premier I understand, and that was good advice. Cabin location, amenities, pricing was right on. It was our first Princess cruise. I’d definitely go with them again. Thanks Thomas for your guidance and help.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Embarkation went smoothly and rooms were ready quickly. The drop off area was kind of mixed up but the actual check-in process went very smoothly.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The dining room, specialty restaurants, buffet, pizza, International Cafe were all very good. Later in the cruise the ship staff served the food at the buffet. That’s fine with me.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
We were relatively sedate, lol, but watched and participated in some of the activities such as “egg drop”, name that tune, etc. Enjoyed them. The cruise director was a real hoot.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
I felt the entertainment was very good, the stage shows, performers, singers, dancers, comedians, the ships orchestra etc. The DJ as well, and usually DJS don’t impress me too much.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our cabin steward, Roberto, did an excellent job keeping up with our cabin needs. He friendly and always had something to say and was easy to talk with. Our waiters in the Club Class Dining room, Brandy and Emerson, both did an excellent job with our meals. Pleasant and knew the menu choices and were quick to take care of any of our wishes.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship was very clean and well maintained. It always takes a little time to get to know your way around but it was fine. The Caribbean Princess is an older ship but in very good shape.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The cabin was very nice, plenty of room, had a large couch and chair along with a desk area. Had 2 big screen TVs, plenty of storage/closet space and a nice bathroom. If there’s a criticism it would be the number of available electrical outlets but we were able to plug in what we needed and were able to function fine. Probably due to being an older ship.
Ship tip
It’s an older ship but very well maintained. All I can say is enjoy your cruise!!
We really didn’t do much except get from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the ship which was easy. Ate at a Carrabba’s near the hotel which was handy.
This was very interesting. Each step of the canal transit was explained over the ship’s PA system and was easy to observe from our room or one of the upper decks.
We took an excursion through the town/area that was also very interesting. Went to “Hell” a small touristy burg so we can say we went there, visited a “turtle” zoo and got a good driving tour of Grand Cayman.
