Review summary

It was a so-so trip compared with my previous voyages with other cruise companies. I would review Princess Cruise communication services before I sign up another tour again.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Orange juice was sometimes tasteless. Soup was salty.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Fitness Center is not equipped with a bicep machine.

Entertainment

Night shows were terrific.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Room steward Arnold's service was very good. However, we were not provided with luggage tags the night before disembarkation. I asked Arnold and was told that he ran out of the tags. Services in the dining rooms were 75% satisfied,

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Common areas were clean and well maintained. Signs on deck 15 were not totally clear to direct diners which section was open or closed.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The steward did an excellent job in cleaning the room. Electric outlets were insufficient. The one in the bathroom was so worn out that it did not hold power cord plugs firmly.

Ship tip

Communication technology has room to improve. There was an announcement of falling back one hour one night due to time zone change, but the My Cruise time display on the TV in the stateroom did not get changed until late next day, which caused lots of confusion. More disappointedly, as of now, it has been six days since I disembarked, I have not received my invoice of onboard expenses albeit after my requests on the phone through a Princess rep and on the computer through Princess.com. The Princess rep told me it would take two business days for me to receive the invoice sent to my email. But it has been longer than that.

Not much to do here. I suggest to change to port Ocho Rios, where travelers may swim.

Cartagena, Colombia

Nice city to visit. But tour peddlers were overwhelming once we walked out of the gate.

Panama Canal (Cruise Into Canal)

Puerto Limon, Costa Rica

The excursion tourist guide was terrific. The traditional dancers were awesome.

George Town, Grand Cayman

The port was great and fun to visit. However, we, a group of ten, paid for a ride from the downtown public bus station to the San Pedro Castle. The driver dropped us off and told us to call the bus station with the help of the gift shop personnel of the Castle when we are ready to leave. When we approached the gift shop counter to request help for our return ride, the cashier just disappointedly said 'They lied again. We are never in the position of providing such service. ' We ended up having to walk about a mile back to the main street at the temperature of over 90 degrees with the risk of dehydration before we could catch a public bus passing by. So, don't trust the public bus drivers at the downtown station.
